"Was it so wrong of me to dream? Or did I simply dream too big, is that why I ended up this way? Without an arm, without a purpose left, without any will to continue on forwards, do I even care for my life at this point? Why bother moving on if I'm going to die so quickly over the tiniest thing, let alone moving with half my strength… Kancer… I'm sorry I really am, you who believed in my wicked dream and you who are probably still thinking about me after I left you all alone, I didn't mean for things to go this way really, yet… Here we are."
These thoughts rummaged around his head over and over again, he would never turn his anger towards Musaqi because at this point in his eyes, he was the issue, not the world, not the situation at hand but only himself, if only he were stronger, wiser, smarter, if only this or that, yet sadly none of us can change the past, only the future that awaits us.
For seven days and seven nights Theseus remained chained, the light in his eyes slowly dimming with each passing day, those around him began insulting him, hoping he would hurry up and die already as he wasn't worth the scraps of food they would feed him, except for the one who found him, the only one had a sliver of hope in him, something rare in the city and as things seemed to be heading for the worst the man had his final talk with Theseus.
He grabbed a nearby chair sitting in front of him "I know you're still holding on kiddo, although I know whatever you're holding onto is clearly nearly broken so let me help you, really. You probably won't trust me and I don't blame you but, if you have the information that can help us then, I'm sure we can help you, we're the type of people to give as long as we receive something worth it back, so please, whatever will you have whether it be small or even nothing at all, conjure it if you have to, give me a sign anything that you know about the outside world, that you know of a way to escape this hell hole of a city… please…" The man clenched his fists tightly his gaze diverting towards the floor in despair as he nearly gave up, until Theseus looked straight ahead at the man, for the first time in a while he looked at what was in front of him, after all staring at the ground in gloom wouldn't help much anyways, the man looked back at him with hope in his eyes, the exact opposite of Theseus's, seeing this Theseus smiled back whilst recalling his past self, a couple minutes later he passed out due to lack of nutrients.
The man took off his chains and hurried him to his bed where he gave him as many scraps as he needed, and enough water for his brain to function, and only twelve hours later he finally woke up and retained consciousness. Upon waking up he looked around him, he was in a small room, one that looked as if it could collapse at any moment, the bed was nice and simple and in front of him was a desk with a small lamp light, being the only light source in the room, the desk itself had a dozen papers scattered across it and the man who had saved him was sleeping on top of them all.
"H-Hello?" Theseus called nervous as to what was going on.
The man jolted up immediately as if a fight were about to break, but soon noticed it was just Theseus "Ah, you've finally woken up huh, the name's Sisyphus, it's a pleasure to meet you?" He tilted his head as he had forgotten if he either knew his name or forgot it.
"Theseus, it's a pleasure to meet you as well." He seemed happy that their names were alike
Sisyphus had a comma hairstyle which was pastel blue, he wore round glasses and his outfit was a mostly black with some blue mixed in, it was rough but seemed to be armor plated to a degree, he appeared to be a bit older than Theseus.
"Theseus it is then, by the way, do you know where you are exactly?" He leaned towards him with his hands crossing in front of his face.
"Somewhat, this is a brutal city is it not? At least that's what a friend told me" "Probably better I don't mention Musaqi, he's probably a big shot around here."
"Can't say you're wrong there, but as most things, there is more to it than just the surface, the city is brutal like you said, but it's not the city itself the issue, it's the people, there are those who are ferocious and those who are unstable, and even monsters lurking that not even I know of, and worst of it all, the people don't mind it, in fact they assume that this is the norm and that we should just abide by these 'rules' that the city has somehow imposed, hope is a rare thing, which is why I have developed this group of mine, those who want to leave the city for the better or for the worse, and so far, you're our best bet out of here." He moved his hands a lot whilst he talked, he was clearly very passionate about this.
"Hm, I didn't know there was that much more depth to this, it's kind of interesting really, don't get me wrong I want to leave as well, but then again I want to experience some of this city stuff you're talking about, especially those monsters." Theseus's eyes began to brighten up again.
"If that is what you want then sure, as long as you tell us what you know, we can show you around, think of it as a tour." He became more laid back and was surprised that Theseus was even interested in the city.
"Sounds like a good trade to me, knowledge for knowledge, how about we go out and take a walk then? Been a while since I moved these joints." He got up and began stretching his arm and legs.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt, I'd lend you one of our armors but I should be enough to protect you." Next to him was his weapon of choice a sword and shield made out of a strange material, they both had the signature black and blue of the group he was leading.
"Don't sweat it, even if we did get in a fight I'm sure I'd hold my own for a while, arm lost or not I'm sure I've still got it in me." Theseus began shadow boxing the air with some kicks and a couple swift jabs whilst dodging an imaginary attack.
"Whatever you say Kiddo, just know I'd throw my life away for you, your value is a lot higher than you think, not just for us but for most people in the city, the second people realise that you're not from here they'll start hunting you and even put a bounty on your just to collect information, not many are as kind as we are." He equipped his sword and shield, the shield covering his entire forearm and the sword being about the length of a longsword.
"Well aren't I lucky then, now I've been meaning to ask, you're Human right?" They began leaving the building they were in whilst he asked the question.
"Of course, the population here has a lot of Humans after all, what about from where you're from?" He let his colleagues know about them heading out before leaving.
"Hmm I'd say mostly Blau? Either that or Ifritian, not exactly many Humans that's for sure." And so the new Adventure had begun.
"Blau?!? Ifritian?!? What the hell are those?!?" Sisyphus was intrigued yet confused, meanwhile Theseus laughed whilst explaining that those with Blue and Red skin were the predominant race from where he came form, he also talked about the lifestyle had lived, how the school system worked, the economy, jobs, how technology had advanced and how the internet and phones were a thing, even political things like presidential elections, surprisingly enough he knew none of this, and so Thesues had gained a new friend, and the light within his eyes slowly but surely was returning.
