An Unknown place

Amon's eyes fluttered open, the sterile white lights above making his head spin. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his vision, but the confusion only deepened as his body failed to fully cooperate. His limbs felt heavy, and every joint ached. He was lying on a cold, metallic table, a strange hum vibrating through the air.

The room around him had clinical-sterile white walls, soft lighting, and strange, glowing devices suspended in the air. He could hear hushed voices, but it took him a moment to focus on them.

A group of researchers stood nearby, watching him with calculating eyes. They weren't human, at least not entirely. Their skin was pale, almost translucent, with sharp features. Their noses were high-bridged, and their ears were slightly elongated, giving them an almost otherworldly look. Their eyes, however, were the most unsettling. They glowed faintly, the pupils absent, replaced by a dark, unfeeling emptiness.

One of them, a woman, glanced at the others. "Doctor, that strange-looking guy has woken up."

Amon's body moved instinctively as he sat up. His legs felt weak, but he managed to push himself off the stretcher and take support against the wall. His mind was still clouded with confusion, but something urgent clawed at the back of his mind.

He looked at the researchers with a mixture of anger and fear. "Who are you guys?" His voice was hoarse, his throat raw from the lack of use.

Before they could answer, his eyes widened as if remembering something. He suddenly snapped, his voice cracking in panic, "Where is Ying Yue? Where is she? Don't tell me I lost her too!" His breath hitched, and a surge of panic gripped his chest.

The researchers exchanged looks, but the woman in front of him stepped forward calmly. "Ying Yue…?" she asked, her voice calm, though there was a hint of empathy in her eyes. "She... arrived here a few months ago, just like you. She regained consciousness a few days ago and is currently in the training facility."

Amon's mind reeled. She's alive? A shred of hope flickered inside him, but it was quickly overtaken by urgency. "Take me to her. Now."

Without waiting for a response, Amon staggered toward the door, but the woman doctor stopped him with a hand on his shoulder. "Please, calm down. We'll take you to her. But first, let us give you some information." She waved to one of the other researchers, who handed her a small, mechanical device a which although was very small seemed to be flying without the help of magic or no bigger than the palm of a hand. It hummed to life on its own, levitating effortlessly before darting toward Amon's head.

He flinched instinctively, but the moment the device touched his temple, a strange sensation washed over him-like a sudden flood of knowledge, an overload of data that made his head spin. He stood there in stunned silence for a moment, trying to process it.

"We are in space," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. "And that was a robot... huh..."

The female doctor smiled, clearly amused by his reaction. "Yes, you're right. We're currently in orbit, far away from your home planet."

Amon blinked, feeling a bizarre sense of wonder wash over him. "This place is awesome." His gaze turned to the large window at the far side of the room, where he could see the vast, dark expanse of space. Stars glittered against the blackness like scattered diamonds, and the view was unlike anything he had ever seen before. The sheer beauty of it made his heart skip a beat.

The doctor's smile widened. "I'm glad you like it."

Amon felt an unexpected sense of awe, but his thoughts were quickly pulled back to Ying Yue. He couldn't afford to get distracted. "Where's the training facility?" he asked, his voice more insistent now.

The researchers led him through the facility, and as they walked, Amon felt the building stretching endlessly high ceilings, vast halls, and strange machinery all around. The silence of space outside contrasted with the faint hum of the complex.

They reached a large training area that looked oddly like an outdoor field, complete with grass and open space. Amon's heart skipped a beat as he caught sight of her. Ying Yue was there, fighting what appeared to be monstrous figures-twisted, devil-like creatures with sharp claws and glowing red eyes like before. She moved with grace and power, but the look of exhaustion in her eyes was unmistakable.

Amon's heart surged with anger. Those things... are they hurting her?

Before he could think twice, he rushed toward them, his body moving on instinct. He summoned a surge of power from deep within and unleashed fire-like bolts of energy that sliced through the monsters, the air crackling with the heat of his magic. "Ying Yue!" he shouted, his voice breaking through the chaos.

He reached her side in a matter of moments, his eyes wild with concern. "Are you okay?" His hands hovered around her, unsure whether to pull her into a hug or check for injuries.

Ying Yue looked at him with a mixture of exasperation and amusement. "Those were just robots, you idiot," she said, her voice soft but tinged with affection.

Amon froze, his heart thudding in his chest. For a moment, he just stared at her, feeling an overwhelming mix of relief and guilt.

Then, without thinking, he pulled her close, his lips crashing against hers. The weight of everything that had happened the deaths, the loss, the battles faded in that single moment. It was just the two of them, standing in a strange, unfamiliar place, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, Amon felt something close to peace.

When they finally broke apart, Amon rested his forehead against hers, breathing heavily. "I thought... I thought I lost you," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Ying Yue smiled softly, her fingers brushing against his cheek. "You're an idiot, Amon," she said with a gentle laugh, her tears glistening in her eyes. "But I'm not going anywhere."
