Chapter 10: Unexpected Harvest, A Tier Five Dragon Egg?

Tier Five?

Carl raised an eyebrow. He knew that dragons were categorized into tiers, from Tier One to Tier Five, with higher tiers signifying stronger adult dragons. In his previous life, there had been a person and a dragon that destroyed a top guild; the Abyss Dragon they faced was rumored to be a Tier Three dragon.

"A Tier Three dragon has the power to annihilate an entire guild."

"And this Radiant Dragon is a pinnacle Tier Five existence among dragons."

"If I can obtain this dragon egg, its potential might surpass my expectations!"

Carl's heart raced with excitement. His journey to the Dragon's Nest was indeed a wise choice.

"Senior, do you think we stand a chance?" Carl turned to Melz.

"What are you joking about? This is a Tier Five adult dragon!" Melz's expression grew serious. "And it's a Radiant Dragon with the purest bloodline. Attempting to storm its lair has less than a one-in-ten-thousand chance of success."

"Is it really that strong?" Carl frowned.

The stronger the Radiant Dragon, the higher the potential of the dragon egg within its lair. However, this also meant that acquiring it would be increasingly difficult. Even Melz, a divine-level sorcerer, was cautious, which spoke volumes about the dragon's power.

"We should retreat; this isn't a place for you," Melz said, staring intently at the Radiant Dragon, not daring to let his guard down. He already had a teleportation scroll in hand, ready to shatter it at any moment.

Carl gritted his teeth and said, "I'll double the payment."

Melz shook his head. "More money won't help. It's not that I don't want the reward, but facing such a being in its lair is a guaranteed death sentence."

Carl spoke solemnly, "I don't need to force my way in. Can you buy me some time?"

"Well…" Melz hesitated for a moment, leaning against the wall with a forlorn expression. "I'm not sure if I can hold out…"

"Three times the payment!" Carl raised three fingers, his face expressionless.

"!!!"

"Even if I can't hold out, I'll do it!"

Melz sprang into action, his face turning a deep shade of red. "I'll risk it; three minutes!" He bellowed, his muscles bulging, veins popping like dragons. The once frail old man transformed into a muscular powerhouse, his biceps larger than Sylvester Stallone's head.

"I can only buy you three minutes!"

"Any more than that is impossible; you'll have to weigh your options."

"Master, what are you doing?" Carl was astonished.

Is sorcery this wild nowadays?

"Don't ask! Don't say!"

"Without some trump cards, how can I navigate the world? On the surface, I'm a sorcerer."

"But in reality, I'm a melee fighter!"

"Surprised, aren't you?"

"Let's go!"

With a mighty roar, Melz leaped high and charged toward the Radiant Dragon.

Boom!

With a thunderous sound, the ground trembled as dust erupted. The hundred-meter-long dragon was forced into the earth by a single strike.

"Wow! This guy is the real deal."

At that moment, Carl finally understood why a sorcerer would cast so many buff spells on himself!

With all attributes enhanced, this divine-level melee class had astonishing physical strength, capable of briefly clashing with a Tier Five dragon. In terms of power, even considering his past life, Melz was among the top five strongest individuals Carl had ever encountered.

The combination of dual classes was terrifying.

But he had no time to marvel at this; he swiftly entered the Dragon's Nest.

"The direction of the dragon egg should be deep in the left front."

The lair was dark, pitch black.

But for Carl, this posed little trouble.

He had studied the terrain extensively in his previous life and had it memorized.

He moved through the lair as if returning home, moving with incredible speed!

"This kid…"

Melz, glancing at Carl gliding effortlessly through the lair, was taken aback.

Although there were no other monsters in the Dragon's Nest, the pressure radiating from the Tier Five dragon was enough to instill fear in anyone.

For ordinary people, even walking would be a challenge.

Yet Carl moved like he was unaffected, darting through the lair with perfect control over the distances.

His calm demeanor and practiced movements were honed through countless trials.

This was definitely not something a novice who hadn't completed their class transition could achieve.

"He's indeed extraordinary; no wonder he can command three hundred million gold coins for a task."

Melz muttered, and even with his divine combat experience, he couldn't find fault with Carl.

Roar!

The Radiant Dragon roared, its heavy draconic might shattering nearby mountains.

"Beast, if it were any other time, I might fear you a little."

"But for these three minutes, even a dragon will bow down to me!"

"ORA ORA ORA ORA!!!"

Melz shouted, his fists raining down like a storm, each punch strong enough to shatter a mountain.

Under such relentless assault, even the mighty Radiant Dragon was unable to retaliate.

With the Radiant Dragon suppressed, the Dragon's Nest fell into an eerie calm.

Carl sprinted ahead, finally reaching the deepest part of the lair.

It was a small cave, not very spacious.

In the center stood a dragon egg, half a person tall and a beautiful shade of green, surrounded by a faint glow.

Not far from the egg lay a shiny object, unclear whether it was equipment or an item.

"Just as I thought!"

Carl was elated, taking two steps at once without time to examine it closely, collecting both the dragon egg and the shimmering item.

He then suppressed his excitement and returned the way he came.

Thanks to Melz's all-attribute buff and his knowledge of the Dragon's Nest terrain, the entire process from entering to exiting took less than three minutes.

At this moment, Melz was still unleashing punches like thunder, thoroughly enjoying himself.

"Master, I'm done!" Carl shouted.

"So fast?"

Melz looked up sharply, his body deflating like a punctured balloon.

A flash of light appeared beneath his feet, and he instantly appeared before Carl, placing a hand on his shoulder.

The teleportation scroll shattered in an instant.

Carl felt the scenery around him shift rapidly, and when his vision cleared, he found himself in the Supreme Hall.

Beside him, Melz looked pale, as if he had overindulged, his eyes vacant.

He seemed completely drained.

Carl exclaimed in alarm, "Master, what's wrong?"

"My magic… I have not a drop left."

Melz trembled, his lips quivering. "Do you know what I just fought? That was a Tier Five dragon, an entity close to a deity. If we hadn't escaped quickly, we both would have perished there."

"Only because I practice both magic and martial arts could I withstand three minutes. Try it with someone else!"

"Thank you, Master." Carl understood that even a Tier Three dragon cultivated by players could destroy a top guild.

Let alone a native Tier Five dragon.

Even if the twelve divine-level experts of Country C gathered together, they wouldn't stand a chance.

Melz waved his hand dismissively. "No worries, what about the two hundred million gold coins?"

"Of course."

Carl didn't hesitate, opening the trade window directly.

Two hundred million gold coins were indeed a fortune.

But compared to the harvest from the Dragon's Nest, it seemed insignificant.

That green dragon egg was likely a Tier Five dragon egg!

An absolute divine pet!
