Chapter 11

Emma closed the door and she was still confused.

"Uhmmm…how did you hear about that?" Emma asked.

"How did I hear about it? Julian is one if not the most eligible bachelor in the city and you are engaged to him, it's all the over the news." Sophie replied.

"How did it get out so soon?" Emma asked.

"It's the stone family, so it's expected." Sophie said. "So tell me everything, how did it happen, how did he propose to you?" Sophie was excited.

Emma walked up to her fridge, "Well first you need to calm down and relax." She opened the fridge. "Do you want anything to drink?"

"Not really, what I want is for you to tell me how all this happened. I mean I never expected this to happen to you all of people." Sophie replied.

Emma took out a bottle of water and closed the fridge, "Trust me I don't know what is happening to my life, it's like everything is changing fast and I have no control over it." She took a sip of the water. "You already know where I work, I went to this cooperate party the stone family planned. Gabriel and Rachel were trapped in a room that was on fire, I was close to then at that time and I saved them." Emma explained.

"Wow, and then they asked you to marry Julian." Sophie guessed.

"Yeah exactly." Emma said.

"Well that is certainly interesting."

"I am trying my best not to think about the whole thing but it's impossible." Emma sat down on one of the couch. "I don't know why I agreed to it, I don't want to marry and certainly not Julian. What I'm I going to do now?"

Sophie went and sat next to Emma, "Yeah I guess everything would be overwhelming for you, but now more than ever you need to be strong. Honestly I don't know what the stone family are thinking but you should not let them dictate your life." Sophie said.

"Yeah, I also have to go meet them tomorrow or the day after."

"If you want I can come with you, I don't mind that."

"That would be great but I think it's best if I go on my own, I am the one that got myself into this mess." Emma said.

"Alright, if you change your mind I am always available for you."

"Thanks a lot Soph."

"I actually came here to give you this." Sophie lifted a small bag she was holding and it was just then that Emma realize that she came in with the bag.

"What is it?" Emma asked.

"The night at my party, Oliver told me that your phone entered the swimming pool and spoilt so I bought you a new phone since it was at my party that it happened." Sophie brought out a new phone from the bag.

"Yeah my phone, with everything that happened I forgot all about that." Emma took the phone from Sophie. "Thanks for the phone, at least I won't have to stress myself getting one." She continued.

"You're welcome, it nothing. You know, I am impressed though." Sophie said.

"Impressed with what?" Emma asked curiously.

"Well, Oliver was the one who told me about your phone, another really hot bachelor. You two must have had a good time. I told you that you are a catch, if you were trying to find a man, it won't be hard at all."

"I won't say I had a good time with him, I barely had any time with him. And that is a weird thing to say to someone that is engaged. Wow, saying that out loud sounds so messed up to me." Emma said.

"You are not married yet and there is still a lot of time for the wedding to be called off, if that is what you really want."

"I don't think I can do anything about it now till I meet Gabriel and Rachel. I really don't want to go see them."

"What about Julian, did he say anything about the whole engagement? Maybe he wants it, I mean it's you we are talking about."

"Julian definitely did not want it, he couldn't say anything because his parents kinda emotionally blackmailed him, is that how rich people do things."

"Well things are just going to get more interesting from here on out and I will be checking up on you more frequently so you can give me the gist."

"I am glad you now find my life interesting." Emma said.

"You'll still get to talk to Julian, which would be definitely interesting."

"I am not looking forward to that." Emma said. "And he just broke with his girlfriend.

"How do you know that?"

"Well they broke up at the party before the whole incident, I guess she cheated on him or something like."

"Do you know who she is?"

"No I don't." Emma replied. "I think I will just go see Gabriel and Julian stone tomorrow, I want to just get this over with."

"I think that is okay. I just remembered, what about your parents? Do you think you would tell them?"

"I don't really want to talk about them." Emma mood changed. "I don't think they need to know, and as you said, there is still a lot of time for the wedding not to take place so there is really no need to tell them."

"Yeah, I am sorry I mentioned them in this situation."

"It's alright." Emma said. "I don't know what I was thinking agreeing to the engagement. I have to find a way to stop this." She continued.

"How do you plan on doing that?"

"I honestly don't know, and I can't just go to Gabriel and Rachel and call off the engagement, I mean so many people already know about it so doing that will cause a lot of problems for them and who knows what will happen to my career."

"You need to relax and think love, you are good at that. You don't have to do anything right away, just go with the flow and plan things.

"Well I guess that is the only thing I can do now." Emma said.
