The atmosphere in the room grew more oppressive, the air thick with dark energy swirling like a vortex. The creature stood in the midst of the hardening shadows, its glowing eyes radiating satisfaction at the defeat it had orchestrated. Ethan, Rowan, Lila, and Kael stood ready, their feelings mixed between fear and determination.
"Asha..." Lila whispered, gently caressing Asha's weak hand lying on the floor. Tears fell from her eyes, but something within her began to ignite. "We can't let her die like this. Not after all we've been through."
Ethan glared at the creature with hatred. "We won't give up," he said loudly, holding back the emotions that were on the verge of exploding. "We will defeat you, no matter what happens."
The creature laughed coldly. "You've come too far to turn back," it said with a terrifying voice. "Nothing can stop the destruction that's coming. You will regret this."
With one swift motion, the creature unleashed an enormous wave of dark energy that swept across the entire room. They all staggered back, almost losing their footing. Ethan felt his energy nearly depleted, and he knew that if they didn't act now, everything would be over.
"Asha, hang in there!" Ethan shouted, seeing the blood still flowing from Asha's body. Lila continued to try healing with light illusions, but the results were insufficient against a force far greater than theirs.
Rowan stared at the ceiling filled with ancient symbols. There was something he felt, a sensation he had never experienced before. "There's something here," he said softly. "These symbols... maybe they can help us."
Lila, though emotionally shaken by seeing her friend lying helpless, couldn't ignore Rowan's words. "These symbols..." She looked towards the walls, searching for clues. "Maybe we can use the energy from this place to fight him."
With the last of his strength, Ethan ran towards one of the most striking symbols on the wall. It seemed different from the rest, glowing faintly, like a call urging him to come closer. "This might be our only chance," he said.
Quickly, Kael grasped the medallion around his neck, fully concentrating, trying to connect his mental powers with the symbols around them. He began to feel a strange vibration flowing from the medallion into his body, then spreading throughout the room, vibrating with an intensity he had never felt before.
"We can do this!" Kael shouted, trying to focus his mental energy into the symbols. "This is a power greater than anything we could imagine. We have to work together!"
Meanwhile, the creature was drawing closer, raising its hand to strike again. "You cannot defeat the darkness," it said, its voice threatening. "You will only become part of this darkness."
But before the creature could launch its next attack, Rowan suddenly raised his left hand, directing the ancient bracelet he had found toward the creature. The fire blazing in Rowan's hand erupted, forming a massive pillar of flames that engulfed the creature's entire body.
"Come on, everyone!" Rowan shouted, charging forward with renewed vigor. "This is our chance!"
Lila quickly moved her hands, creating a light illusion that merged with the fire, wrapping the creature's body in an unexpected force. "Now, let's attack with everything we've got!"
Ethan, who had successfully connected with the symbol on the wall, felt the flow of energy surging from the place, boosting their strength. With determination, he raised his sword high, uniting the power of the symbol with the divine power from his sword. "For this world... for Asha!"
The sword gleamed brightly, and the powerful divine energy burst from the blade, shooting straight toward the creature. The terrifying wave of energy slammed into the creature with an overwhelming force.
But the creature did not remain still. With a loud scream, it released a greater dark energy, trying to resist the attack. They could feel the battle of powers unfolding in the air—the balance tipping between the light and dark energies.
Suddenly, Asha, lying weakly, raised her injured hand, directing the little energy she had left into the light created by the symbols. "Don't let him win..." she whispered softly.
With her remaining strength, Asha helped channel the healing energy through the light, strengthening their attack. Slowly, the light grew stronger, piercing through the creature's dark energy with fierce wrath.
The creature groaned loudly, its body starting to crumble under the combined force they unleashed. "This... isn't over!" it screamed angrily.
However, in a massive explosion of energy, the creature finally collapsed, its body torn apart and vanishing into the deepening darkness.
They stood, gasping for breath, their bodies covered in wounds and exhaustion, but the victory felt sweet. Yet, the sense of relief was quickly overshadowed by an even greater tension, as Asha— their friend who had sacrificed so much—looked weaker by the second.
"She... she needs help," Lila said desperately, trying to lift Asha's body.
But an even greater threat still loomed, and their journey was far from over.
