SCREEEEECH!!!
My heart dropped as I realized my mistake. When I blasted the locks, I must have destroyed all of them. From the shadows of the dungeon, more than a handful of ferals emerged, their soulless eyes locked onto us.
“Run!” I shouted, shoving as many humans forward as I could.
Panic erupted as the prisoners bolted, but the ferals were faster.
Without thinking, I shifted into my wolf form, feeling my bones crack and reshape as fur sprouted across my body. A deep growl rumbled from my throat.
“Grrrrr!” I lunged at the closest feral, aiming for its throat, but it swatted me mid-air like I was nothing. The force sent me crashing into the wall with a sickening thud.
Pain flared across my body, but I forced myself back up, shaking off the dizziness.
They’re stronger. Faster.
I darted forward again, this time going for its leg. My jaws clamped down, and I yanked with all my strength. The feral screeched as its leg tore free, collapsing to the ground
