After refreshing, I found myself suddenly aware of the entirely unfamiliar setting. We weren’t at the mansion anymore, but, oddly enough I didn’t bother to ask where we were.
The hallway we walked down was dim, the faint glow of flickering bulbs barely illuminating the peeling wallpaper. Unease crawled over my skin as we walked in silence. Jezebel had mentioned that there would be a number of people waiting, but she didn't give much detail on this. Like why I had to meet a bunch of people I didn't know
When we entered the gathering room, the buzz of conversation instantly died. Dozens of eyes turned toward us, their scrutiny suffocating me. Among them, I spotted Luca and some of his wolf pack standing off to one side. I wondered what on planet Earth, might have happened for werewolves even to consider being under the same roof as vampires. Because there were way too many vampires here tonight. Who the hack were they?
