A Tense Meeting

I stared at Lily, my eyes tracing every detail of her face. There was something about her, something in her features, her energy, that mirrored Liam in a way that was almost unsettling.

“Blake, did you hear that?” Ruth’s voice pulled me back to reality, snapping the thread of my thoughts.

“What?” I blinked, realizing I’d missed whatever she said.

“I said, I saw you in a vision, with this man,” Lily said, holding up a drawing. My stomach twisted. It was Liam, unmistakably him, captured perfectly with that characteristic nonchalant expression.

“So?” I asked, keeping my voice as steady as I could.

“So, we need your help to find him,” Aldo cut in before Lily could respond. “We’ve run into him a few times, and ever since, bad things have been happening in the town. We think he’s connected to it.”

“And what makes you think I’d tell you where he is?” I narrowed my eyes. I would take my chances with them than out a maniac boy who could kill me instantly.
