Humanity ll

“It’s a beautiful day,” Ginevra remarked as we drove into the bustling city.

“Mingling with humans is another way to keep your humanity as a vampire. As long as you come here only when well fed,” he advised.

I nodded in understanding, gazing up at the towering buildings surrounding us.

We engaged in a variety of mundane activities, including visiting a history museum. Where we shared laughs about how some facts were deliberately left out or inaccurately depicted.

“Look at this one,” Ginevra called me over, pointing to an exhibit. We spent hours enjoying the museum, with Ginevra often asking if I remembered certain events we had a hand in or encountered.

Given the frequency of life-and-death situations I’ve faced every century, my memory could only retain so much detail.

We indulged in street food, opting for simple hotdogs, and caught a movie at the theater. As the sun set and the moon and stars illuminated the sky, we were both still in high spirits.
