Vanessa's Pov
This is day 3 of staying with Autumn. I really enjoy how Edward carries the family. Today mum and dad said they'll drop by. Yesterday evening, Jason and his fiancee came over with gifts. Edwards mother always video called to see her grand child from her last son. Oh he's such a mummy's boy. She said she'll come over next week. But I won't be available to receive such a sweet human. Joana is lucky to have such a family.
My workers are doing great. I video call them every afternoon to check up on them and give orders on important things. I would be there to check the event hall that would be used for Blackwood launching of gadgets and my workers have sent the invitation cards to the Blackwood company so that they can distribute to whoever they want. Seeing Brittany handling everything perfectly well gladdens my heart. I'm thinking of opening another branch office in another country and keeping her in charge.
Rebecca has been calling me to curse me for leaving to go see Autumn without her. She said she was going to be coming this afternoon. Then we'll leave together tomorrow.
I've talked to Bryan, the guy I met at the store. I finally stored his name in my memory too. It's on my phone too but I can't look for it on my phone if I don't have it in my head. He's a cool person and i really do enjoy his company. This feels like a mini vacation.
Let's not forget that Mr. Grumpy has been calling me since. He makes me want to change my phone and get a new one and sim. I don't even know what he wants because if it's about the event.. I swear I'm not running away.
Or maybe he misses you.
Well, he should stop calling me like his life depends on me.
I laid down on the recliner and placed little Joana on my chest. I like how peaceful she is. She just eats and sleep. She makes having a child look fun. I hummed a song while gently patting her back.
"Looks like you're having fun" Autumn stood in front of me, with her scattered bird nest of a hair
"Why do you make motherhood look tough and miserable" I laughed lightly
"Because it is. Painful breast, emotions everywhere, cravings, feeling fat. It's frustrating. Oh my God! Tomorrow you'll be gone and I'll have her all to myself. What am I going to do. I'm scared I'll hurt my child out of frustration" she sits on the ground
"Firstly, you're an emotional person and I think those symptoms are normal sis and also, you're strong and you won't hurt someone you went through hell to bring out. I'll be gone but I'll come whenever I'm chanced and just pray she grows fast so I can take her for holiday" I kissed the baby's hair. "She's a peaceful child. Just feed her and she'll sleep. You got this"
"I got this. I better go shower before Rebecca comes and -"
"Damn! You look like shit, Autumn! Is this how pregnant women look or it's just this particular pregnant woman"
"Shit me" Autumn completed her statement, glaring at Rebecca who cut her short and said exactly what she was avoiding
"Hi Bestie" I smiled
"Shut your trap girl. Ain't no bestie to someone who left my ass to come have a family time." Rebecca frowned at me. "Sorry about me shitting you Autumn... Even though you clearly look like shit but please help yourself okay? It's not the end of the world mama"
"I hate you" Autumn flipped her off and goes to take her bath.
"Love you too Big sis!" Rebecca yelled
"Shhhh!!! You'll wake her up" I whispered
"That's the difference between this aunt and the other aunts. Now give her to me. C'mon! Bring her over to big aunty" She stretched her hand and I rolled my eyes before passing the baby to her.
"Sorry Joana. It's just for today" I pecked her and stood up from the recliner so Becca can sit
"How is everything?" I sat on the couch, flipping through channels on the television
"In as much as I hate you right now. I can't help but still love you. I forgive you for leaving me even if you don't want to apologize"
"But I apologized on phone! I thought you said it was fine" I facepalmed myself
"And you believed? I thought you were smarter than that" She laughed
"I'm sorry hunnie. I was just so excited to see Joana" I sighed
"Joana. Such a pretty name." Becca complimented
"Oh no! Why today!" I heard a male voice and turned to see dad frowning playfully at Becca's presence.
"You can't get rid of me much, Papa" Becca yelled and mum pecked her head. "Hi Mama. I missed y'all so much"
"I didn't miss you one bit. If anything... I was happy about your absence" Dad joked
"That's a big fat lie. That lie is fatter than my whole ass!" Becca yelled
"Even Joana's body is fatter than your ass so of course it's easy for the lie to be fatter too" Dad threw a comeback. He picked Joana from Rebecca
"Oh how I miss the way you show your love for me papa." Becca laughed and I just shook my head
I don't know how they do their things but when they plot against someone, that person will definitely cry. They act like they were made for each other. Lol
"Full house" Edward said, strolling in with his briefcase
"You can say that again. Welcome" I said
"Where's my lady?" He asked, walking up to Joana
"I'm here" Autumn said cheerfully
"Uhhh... I meant Joana" he scratched the back of his hair and Autumn just kept a sad look
"Oh come on! You brought yourself the competition... So compete!" Rebecca yelled
"You're stupid" Autumn threw a pillow at Becca
"Very correct" Dad chimes and we all laughed
My mother was on her phone. That's why you really can't hear her contributions much.
"It's my turn to carry her" mum dropped her phone in her bag and picked Joana from Dad.
The girl woke up by force. No peace for the innocent child. First grand child for a reason.
Did I mention that they all came with gifts? Whenever they visited, they always brought one or two things with them. For the family. It's really cute.
"Let me freshen up. Babe, come with me please" Edward held Autumn and led her to their room
"Careful! You've not learnt how to take care of one" I teased
"Don't take advice from a single pringle" Rebecca yelled and i rolled my eyes at her.
"Blerh!" I frowned.
"Oh.. my baby is callinggg" she said in a sing song tone and I rolled my eyes.
I'm happy for her.
My parents gives me a pitiful look and it makes me laugh inside my heart not outside
"What's that look for?" I smirked at them
"You're turning 24 and ..."
"I'm single. Yeah... No big deal" i shrugged
"If you say so" dad hurriedly said before mum would say anything annoying.
"Excuse me. I need to prepare what my sister will eat. Are you guys staying for dinner?" I turned to look at them
"No" Dad answered and I nodded

"Aren't you the event planner for Blackwood launching?" Rebecca called out to me
"I am!" I yelled back.
"I think my baby knows you" she yelled back
