Xavier strolled through his newly acquired palace, marveling at the intricate craftsmanship and sheer opulence of his surroundings. The floors were polished marble, cool underfoot, and the walls bore detailed engravings of ancient dragons entwined with depictions of grand battles. Chandeliers adorned with shimmering crystals hung from high ceilings, casting soft, golden light over the vast corridors. Outside, through large windows, he caught glimpses of the palace grounds—a lush landscape filled with vibrant gardens, serene koi ponds, and towering ancient trees.
The soft rustle of leaves and the faint chirping of birds outside created a calming backdrop to his exploration. Xavier paused at a balcony, gazing out over the estate, his thoughts drifting between the new responsibilities of leading the Soul Clan and the growing bonds with those closest to him.
After taking in the view, he made his way back toward the kitchen. As he approached, Xavier slowed his pace, hearing the soft tones of Jessica and Liana in conversation.
"…he's such an incredible person," Jessica said warmly, her voice carrying a gentle admiration. "I feel like every day with him is another step closer to the future I've always dreamed of. I've always wanted a big wedding, you know. Something grand, with flowers everywhere, a dress that makes him speechless, and all the people we care about there to celebrate."
Liana's laughter was light and teasing. "I can already picture it! But you'll have to share some details—I'll need to make sure everything is perfect as your right hand. Do you think Xavier has thought about it yet?"
Jessica smiled, a dreamy tone in her voice. "I'm not sure, but knowing him, he's probably thinking about how to protect everyone first before indulging in those thoughts. That's just who he is. But I'll make sure that when the time comes, it's everything we've ever wanted."
Xavier stood silently by the door for a moment, a small smile tugging at his lips as he listened. The warmth in Jessica's voice and the playful support from Liana made his heart swell. He quietly stepped into the kitchen, pretending he hadn't overheard.
"So," he said with a grin, "are you two plotting something without me?"
Jessica turned, a bit startled, her cheeks turning a soft pink. "We were just… talking about the future."
Xavier raised an eyebrow, teasing. "The future, huh? Sounds like some pretty big plans are being made."
Jessica smiled, stepping closer to him and slipping her arms around his waist. "Just dreams… ones we'll make come true together."
Xavier chuckled, pulling her into a brief hug before glancing at Liana. "You're in on this too, aren't you?"
Liana shrugged with a mischievous smirk. "Let's just say you've got a lot of work ahead of you, clan leader."
The three of them shared a laugh, the warmth of their connection making the palace feel more like a home.
One by one, Xavier's friends arrived at the palace, each marveling at its grandeur. Eddie and Felix couldn't help but admire the intricate architecture, while Mara commented on the sheer scale of the estate, joking that Xavier was now living like a king. As they all gathered in the grand dining hall, filled with sunlight streaming through tall windows, Xavier stood at the head of the table with Jessica and Liana by his side.
Once everyone was seated, Xavier began, "I've decided to start my own clan—the Soul Clan. But a clan is nothing without its members, and I can't imagine leading one without all of you. I want each of you to join me on this journey."
The group exchanged glances, smiles breaking out across their faces. Mara was the first to speak. "Are you kidding? Of course, we'll join! There's no one I'd rather follow."
Felix grinned, leaning back in his chair. "This is going to be interesting. Count me in."
Eddie crossed his arms, nodding firmly. "I'm with you, Xavier. Always have been."
"Me too," said Liana, her tone playful but resolute. "Though I'm already here, so I guess I beat them to it."
Xavier laughed, the camaraderie filling him with confidence. "Thank you, all of you. Your trust means everything to me. Each of you will play an important role in this clan."
He assigned roles with care. Jessica retained her position as queen of the clan, her strategic mind and leadership complementing Xavier's vision. Liana was officially named the clan's second strategist, working closely with Jessica to oversee planning and operations. Mara, Felix, and Eddie took on roles suited to their strengths—Mara as the head of defense, Felix managing resources and logistics, and Eddie in charge of scouting and intelligence. However, Xavier deliberately left the role of his right hand open, a position he felt needed someone with extraordinary balance of strength, wisdom, and loyalty.
With the clan formally established, Xavier felt a sense of accomplishment, but there was more work to be done. He excused himself and headed to meet with Lord Cedric, leaving his friends to explore the palace and settle in.
At the elder's chamber, Xavier found Lord Cedric reviewing scrolls, his calm yet commanding presence filling the room. Xavier bowed respectfully.
"Lord Cedric, I've made my decision," he said, standing tall. "I've created my own clan—the Soul Clan. I wish to compete in the Battle of the Realms under my own banner. But I need to know the rules and proceedings, as well as the prizes for the victor."
Lord Cedric raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You've made quite the bold decision, Xavier. Not many your age would have the courage to form their own clan, let alone compete in the Battle of the Realms. Very well, I will guide you."
He stood and motioned for Xavier to follow him to a large map laid out on a nearby table.
"The Battle of the Realms is a tournament designed to showcase the strongest talents from all the realms. It's held once every decade, and the competition is fierce. The rules are simple: clans face off in a series of challenges, including individual duels, team battles, and survival trials. Only the strongest and most unified clans make it to the final stage."
Lord Cedric paused, his expression growing serious. "As for the prizes, they are unparalleled. The victor is granted access to the Celestial Ascension Pool, a mystical lake said to boost cultivation exponentially for those who enter. Additionally, the winning clan earns immense prestige, resources, and alliances with the most powerful factions. For an individual, it is an opportunity to rise above all others."
Xavier absorbed the information, his determination growing. "Thank you, Lord Cedric. I'll prepare myself and my clan for what's to come."
Cedric nodded approvingly. "You have a long road ahead, Xavier. But I believe you are more than capable. Lead wisely, and the Soul Clan may become a force that shapes the future of this world."
Xavier bowed again, leaving the chamber with newfound clarity and resolve. The path to greatness was clear, and he was ready to walk it.
As Xavier left Lord Cedric he spotted Raiden a young warrior Xavier admired as a dark horse during the outer core disciple tournament.
Raiden froze for a moment, surprised to be addressed by someone of Xavier's caliber. With his fiery red hair and fierce yet humble demeanor, Raiden had always admired Xavier from afar, but never imagined being approached by him.
"Me? Join your clan?" Raiden asked, his voice tinged with disbelief and excitement.
Xavier smiled warmly, his piercing dragon eyes giving him an air of authority. "Yes, I've seen you fight. You have potential, Raiden, but potential alone won't take you to the top. With the Soul Clan, I can help you grow stronger—far stronger than you are now. What do you say?"
Raiden's face lit up with determination as he placed his fist to his chest in a gesture of respect. "If you'll have me, I would be honored to join the Soul Clan, Xavier!"
Xavier nodded and extended his hand. "Welcome, Raiden. From this moment forward, you're part of something bigger than yourself. I'll assign you a role after I've observed your abilities more closely, but for now, focus on becoming the best version of yourself."
Raiden gripped Xavier's hand firmly, his gaze filled with gratitude and resolve. "I won't let you down."
As they parted ways, Raiden's heart swelled with purpose. Meanwhile, Xavier continued toward his friends, satisfied with the addition of another promising member to his clan. The Soul Clan was steadily growing, and with each step forward, Xavier felt more confident about the challenges ahead.
