Chapter 32

Looking at the Confinement Room door, which now seemed like the gates of heaven, Klee could no longer control the urge in her heart.

In an instant, she jumped off the bed.

She quickly put on her clothes, slung her backpack over her shoulders, and adjusted her hat.

The Spark Knight, Klee, was ready for an adventure!

"Brother Famas, how do we get out?"

Klee and Famas stood in front of the door made of fresh Frostbearing Tree roots. A powerful Pyro elemental aura enveloped Famas, and in an instant, his body shattered into a cloud of fiery particles.

Klee felt her vision darken for a moment as Famas carried her through the crack in the Confinement Room door.

"I'll take you out!"

Looking at the Knights of Favonius headquarters outside the Confinement Room, Klee's excitement flashed in her eyes. She leaned in close to Famas's ear and whispered softly.

Her warm breath made Famas blush slightly.

Klee, with practiced ease, led the way out of the Confinement Room. Famas followed closely behind. However, instead of boldly walking out of the Knights' headquarters, Klee turned and slipped into the Favonius Library.

Inside the library, Lisa was not at her usual librarian's desk. It seemed she had stepped away for some reason.

What Famas didn't know was that because the two of them had "angered" Acting Grand Master Jean, Lisa had been forced to take over a mountain of paperwork.

At that moment, Lisa was in the Acting Grand Master's office, staring at a pile of documents, contemplating using her Electro magic to zap them all into oblivion.

"The largest library in the northern continent?"

Klee and Famas looked around at the library's interior.

The decor was luxurious, with every bookshelf filled from floor to ceiling. The dark walls, wooden chandeliers, vibrant stained glass windows, and exquisite desks and chairs gave the library a unique charm. Famas also noticed a hidden room deep within the library, accessible through a gap in the bookshelves.

"Forbidden books?"

Famas pondered silently.

Klee, now inside the library, tiptoed to the window.

"Great! Sister Lisa forgot to lock the window again today!"

Avoiding the notice of the library's patrons, Klee pushed the window open with a triumphant cheer.

Without hesitation, she climbed out of the window, with Famas following closely behind.

Once outside, Klee didn't jump down immediately. Instead, she climbed along the wall to the roof of the Knights of Favonius headquarters.

From the rooftop, Klee used the position of the windmill to orient herself. Then, without a second thought, she spread her specially designed, tiny Wind Glider and leaped off the roof.

"She's really a pro at this..."

Recalling how smoothly Klee had sneaked out of the Confinement Room, Famas's mouth twitched involuntarily.

Now he was certain: even if he hadn't tempted her, Klee would have found a way to sneak out and blow up fish on her own.

"We're here, we're here! This is Starfell Lake!"

After a bit of gliding and running, Famas and Klee finally reached their destination: the small island in the center of Starfell Lake.

"Boom."

A wave of Pyro energy erupted from Famas, evaporating the water that had soaked him during their journey to the center of the lake.

"Ah, Brother Famas, you're already dry? Okay, now it's Klee's turn!"

Klee clenched her small fists in front of her chest, closed her eyes, and made a determined face.

Then, the stone hanging from her backpack emitted a faint red glow, instantly drying her damp clothes.

After cleaning herself up, Klee moved aside some seemingly random patches of grass, revealing a long-dried campfire.

"Alright, Brother Famas, just wait! Klee will cook some fish for you!"

"Actually, we don't have to rush to blow up..."

Famas stared at Klee's Vision, about to say something, but the little girl had already pulled a doll-like bomb from her backpack.

As Klee's Vision glowed, the doll grew larger and larger.

After testing the weight of the doll in her hand, Klee didn't hesitate to toss it into the water.

"Boom~ Boom~ Blast!"

When the bomb hit the water, instead of the earth-shattering explosion Famas had expected, it bounced.

The bomb skipped across the water like a water strider, each bounce causing a small explosion in the water.

After just a few skips, several unlucky fish had been caught in the blasts, floating belly-up to the surface.

"Impressive."

Famas praised with genuine interest.

"Of course! This is Klee's specially modified fish-blasting version of the Jumpy Dumpty!"

Klee puffed out her chest proudly at Famas's compliment.

Soon, the specialized fish-blasting bomb lost its momentum and sank into Starfell Lake.

Seeing this, Klee didn't hesitate to jump into the lake and retrieve all the fish she had blasted.

"Brother Famas, look! This time I got eight fish. Klee's record is ten fish in one go!"

"Your record..."

Famas affectionately ruffled Klee's hair and used his Pyro energy to dry her clothes.

A strange feeling welled up inside him.

"Klee, can I borrow a bomb too?"

"Of course! Here you go, Brother Famas."

Hearing that Famas wanted to try, Klee excitedly raised her hand.

She charged up a bomb and handed it to Famas.

Famas inspected it briefly before hurling it into the water.

As the bomb skipped across the water, several more unlucky fish floated to the surface.

"How about it, Brother Famas? Isn't fish-blasting fun?"

Klee asked with glee.

"Meh, it's alright."

Though Famas pretended to be unimpressed, his eyes betrayed a spark of excitement.

"When was the last time I blew something up? Back in Natlan, helping humans dig wells?"

After savoring the feeling, Famas nodded and smiled at Klee.

"Come on, Klee. Let me show you what real fish-blasting looks like."

After tossing a few bombs, Famas's inner warrior spirit seemed to awaken. The soul of a Natlan general, summoned from the ley lines, began to manifest behind him, forming a battle formation.

"Scorching... the Seas!"

With the power of the generals surging through him, Famas, wielding a spear, leaped hundreds of meters into the air. Then, like a shooting star, he plunged downward, aiming his spear at the Statue of the Seven in the center of the lake.

"Uh, the statue can be repaired... right?"

A massive Pyro shockwave erupted from the center of Starfell Lake, spreading outward and leaving nothing but scorched earth in its wake.
