The air on the pier grew heavy, the tension between Tai Lung and the Kung Fu Council palpable. Waves lapped against the wooden stilts, the only sound as all four warriors held their ground. Tai Lung's piercing gaze swept over the council, his smirk widening as he stretched his arms and flexed his claws.
"Alright," Tai Lung said, his tone almost bored. "If you're determined to make fools of yourselves, let's get this over with."
Master Thundering Rhino's golden hammer slammed into the pier with a deafening crack, his voice booming. "You've underestimated us for the last time, Tai Lung. You won't leave here unscathed."
Tai Lung chuckled, slipping into a loose, relaxed stance. "Big words for someone who'll be kissing the dirt soon."
Before anyone else could move, Storming Ox charged, his horns aimed directly at Tai Lung's chest. The ground beneath his hooves quaked as he barreled forward with unstoppable momentum.
Tai Lung sidestepped at the last possible moment, fluid as water. His paw lashed out, striking Ox's ribs with a resounding thwack. Ox grunted but spun around with surprising speed, his horns slicing the air.
"You're slow," Tai Lung taunted, dodging with ease. "But I'll give you points for effort."
Storming Ox growled and swung his fist, a blow powerful enough to shatter stone. Tai Lung ducked, his claws raking Ox's exposed side. The ox staggered back, clutching his ribs, but his resolve didn't falter.
"You talk too much!" Ox roared, lunging again.
Tai Lung's grin widened. "And you don't think enough."
This time, as Ox charged, Tai Lung flipped over him, landing gracefully on the ox's back. Before Ox could react, Tai Lung struck two precise points on his shoulders. Ox's arms went limp, and he collapsed onto the pier with a thunderous crash.
"Sit this one out," Tai Lung said, brushing his paws off. " You need to sleep more."
"Impressive," Master Croc said, stepping forward with a sly smile. "But let's see how you handle someone with finesse."
Croc slithered into action, his movements smooth and serpentine. He struck with lightning speed, his claws aiming for Tai Lung's pressure points.
Tai Lung blocked the first flurry of attacks, but Croc was relentless, his strikes flowing like a river. For the first time, Tai Lung had to step back, deflecting blows with practiced precision.
"Not bad," Tai Lung admitted, sidestepping a kick that nearly took his head off. "But finesse alone won't save you."
Croc leaped, spinning in midair to deliver a crushing tail strike. Tai Lung caught the tail with one hand, his claws digging in. With a grunt, he yanked Croc out of the air and slammed him into the pier.
Croc groaned but twisted free, his tail lashing out again. Tai Lung ducked, then delivered a bone-crushing uppercut that sent Croc flying into a stack of barrels.
"Still think finesse is enough?" Tai Lung asked, cracking his knuckles.
Croc staggered to his feet, his breath ragged. "You're stronger than I remember," he admitted, his grin faltering.
"I've had time to think," Tai Lung replied. "And to train. Something you seem to desperately need."
Master Thundering Rhino stepped forward, his massive frame casting a long shadow over the pier. He hefted his hammer, its golden surface gleaming in the sunlight.
"This ends now," Rhino declared.
Tai Lung raised an eyebrow. "Bold of you to assume that."
Rhino charged, swinging his hammer with terrifying force. Tai Lung dodged the first strike, the hammer splintering the pier where he had stood. The second swing came faster, but Tai Lung leaped over it, landing on Rhino's arm.
Rhino roared, shaking Tai Lung off and slamming his hammer down again. Tai Lung rolled aside, narrowly avoiding the impact. He countered with a spinning kick that caught Rhino in the jaw, staggering the massive warrior.
"You're strong," Tai Lung admitted, landing gracefully. "But your strength doesn't compare to the power that I wield."
Rhino bellowed and charged again, his hammer swinging in a wide arc. Tai Lung ducked under the swing and darted forward, striking Rhino's armor with a series of rapid punches. The strikes dented the golden plating, forcing Rhino to step back.
With a final, ferocious roar, Rhino swung his hammer down with both hands. Tai Lung caught the hammer mid-swing, his claws digging into the metal. He grinned, his muscles straining as he wrenched the hammer from Rhino's grip and tossed it into the ocean.
"Strength isn't everything," Tai Lung said, delivering a palm strike to Rhino's chest. The massive warrior staggered, then fell to one knee, gasping for breath.
Tai Lung stood over the defeated council, his gaze cold and unyielding. "You've all forgotten what real strength is," he said, his voice cutting through the silence.
Storming Ox struggled to his feet, his arms still limp. "And what the hell would you know about strength? Huh?!"
Tai Lung's eyes narrowed. "Strength isn't about domination or destruction. True strength is about control, about choosing when to strike and when to show mercy." He gestured to the fallen warriors. "And I'm showing you said mercy now. Not because you deserve it, but because I don't waste my energy on weaklings."
Master Croc snarled. "Weaklings? You only won because—"
"Because I'm better," Tai Lung interrupted, his voice cold. "And you know it."
He turned to leave, his tail flicking behind him. "You should be grateful. My fight isn't with you. It's with the one who calls himself the Dragon Warrior."
He paused at the edge of the pier, glancing back over his shoulder. His eyes gleamed with a predatory light.
"When I find him, we will battle."
"Our Battle will be LEGENDARY!!!"
With that, he disappeared into the forest, leaving the Kung Fu Council to nurse their wounds and their pride.
