Chapter 5: Bank Account

Aurora opened her eyes and hit the enter button. Her heart was beating faster with each passing seconds.

The loading sign on the screen, made her feel anxious. 

After 3 minutes, the screen showed a message.

'This site can't be reached. Check if there is a typo in 200%rebste.com. If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.'

Aurora felt her heart drop. So was...everything she had dreamt was just a dream?

Otherwise, if the 200%rebate.com website existed...why did no such results were shown?

'Maybe, I am overthinking everything.' Aurora thought.

Yet the hope, that maybe she didn't put the name correctly burned in her heart.

She checked the spelling and realized that she had mistakenly put 's' instead of 'a'.

With trembling hands, she corrected her mistake and entered hit. This time she closed her eyes.

After 3 minutes when she opened her eyes, a website appeared in front of her. The website's background was white, with a signup form in the middle.

It only had two fields. One asked for Aurora's name, while the other asked for her favorite thing.

Aurora put her name and in the favorite thing she wrote 'money' 

Living in poverty for so long, taught Aurora, many real-life skills. But it also taught her a valuable lesson.

Those who say 'Money can't buy you happiness.' either never had enough money to buy their own happiness, or had too much and didn't know how to utilize it.

Clicking on the submit button, Aurora waited. The page changed before a successful registration message popped up.

A page with a bold black header with a label saying ' Welcome to the 200% rebate system', below the header was a rectangular box with a heading 'Submit Your Purchase details' in it, followed by two questions each having an answer box. 

The first question was 'What did you buy? And who that person was?', while the second question was 'How much did it cost?'

At last, there was a submit button.

Aurora's hands itched, and she quickly typed in, lipgloss and wrote Olivia's name, along with the price as $200.

Once she hit the submit button, Aurora's heart started to beat with anticipation.

Yet what she received was three error messages.

"Error: Bank account not linked.

Error: No lipgloss has been given to Olivia.

Error: The price of the lipgloss is overpriced.

Note: Please don't try to cheat the system. And stop putting fake data."

Aurora: "..." 

For a moment Aurora felt ashamed.

Just this afternoon she was asking her sister not to fake any illness and now she was faking data...

But was it her mistake though? Absolutely not! It was just she was curious as to what the 200%rebate system would do if she filled in fake data.

At the same time, the accuracy of the system, pleasantly surprised Aurora. 

However, the authenticity still remained a question to her.

What caught her attention though was the first error message.

The Bank Account is not linked.

Aurora thought of her bank account, which was managed by her mother, and sighed.

How will she explain all of these things to her mother?

She was a minor so without her mother's permission or supervision, she couldn't withdraw money. 

Not to mention, who will she explain the money getting deposited to her mother's account suddenly?

'But what if all of this is a scam?' Aurora's mind screamed. 'What if instead of money getting credited, all of it gets scammed?'

The thought made Aurora's heart skip a beat.

An idea came into Aurora's mind the next moment. As long as she opens a bank account with no zero balance, she will not need to worry about getting scammed!

Praising herself for being smart, Aurora was about to search for the banks, when her attention was attracted by the 'linked' word.

It was written in black like all the words, however, whenever Aurora hovered the arrow on it, it would turn blue.

Out of curiosity, Aurora clicked the word and to her surprise, it led her to a different page. This page was empty except for a button right in the center of the page 'Apply for Bank Account.'

When Aurora, clicked on it, then a pop appeared on her screen

'Applied for the bank account successfully, you will receive a bank card within the next 7 business days.

Note: Only payments made from these bank accounts will be counted, so use it for any expenses.'
