Unexpected connections

I started working as an intern, but it hasn't been easy. I don't know how to connect with my office colleagues. Most of the time, my tasks involve buying coffee and food for them, which feels difficult. I don't get much of a chance to improve my skills. One week passed like this. During that time, I tried to avoid Lehan as much as possible because every time I met him, he seemed angry with me.

In that week, I felt incredibly lonely. Being far from my family and without any friends to hang out with, every evening after finishing my work, I would go to the park and simply sit. Sometimes, I would spend my time doodling. It was a habit I developed in my childhood. Whenever I felt down, I would grab a pen and draw something, even if it looked terrible. It always helped calm my nerves, so I always carried a notebook with me.

Days passed slowly. I still wasn't close with anyone, but I mustered some courage to start talking to them. Somehow, I managed. They often went out for team dinners, but for the first two weeks, no one invited me to join. Then, they did, but I wasn't comfortable, so I never went.

All I did was go to the office, then the park, eat, and sleep. In between, I often felt incredibly lonely. So, I decided to start going for walks in the mornings. I would wake up early and walk.

During those walks, I met an elderly man who was also walking. We would exchange a few words and smile at each other every day. His presence gave me some hope to keep moving forward. I never missed my morning walks after that.

One month passed, and I began to feel a little peace. I had become used to living in my own world. Then one Sunday arrived. In the office, everyone went for a team outing. They called me, but as usual, I declined.

That Saturday night, the grandpa I met every day called me and invited me to his house. He mentioned that his wife wanted to meet me. I couldn't refuse his invitation, so I decided to go to his house.

I got ready and went to the grandpa's house. The house looked like a palace compared to mine. I felt a little nervous as I pressed the calling bell. A woman, who seemed to be working there, came and opened the door for me. Then, the grandpa came and warmly welcomed me.

I handed over the fruits I had bought for them. We sat and talked. In the meantime, the grandma slowly appeared in a wheelchair, smiling warmly. She welcomed me as well.

I'm not the kind of person who easily gels with people, but they made me feel comfortable. We talked a lot. The grandpa cooked for us, and I helped the grandma. We ate and talked for hours. After so many days, I laughed a lot. They made me feel less homesick.

Time passed quickly, and evening arrived. I decided it was time to leave. They urged me to stay a little longer, but I convinced them and left their house.

After that, I started visiting their house more often. We spent good times together.

Then, one day, as usual, I left the office and walked to the park. I sat on the stone bench, listening to music.

Suddenly, I felt like someone was standing nearby. I took off my headphones and looked up. I was shocked by what I saw. There, standing beside me, was Lehan.

My mind went into a panic – what mistakes had I made in the office? I had no clue. I just stammered, 'What, sir?'

He said nothing and quietly sat down beside me. Then, in a whisper, he asked, 'Can I sit here for a bit longer?'

I had no idea what to say. So, I just nodded and muttered, 'Yes.'

We didn't talk about anything. We just sat together and stared at the sky. I felt nervous, unsure of why he had come and sat with me. A complete silence lingered between us.

After an hour, he left. That night, I couldn't sleep. I had no clue what was going on, and I didn't have the courage to ask him.

the next day, after I went to the office, I kept looking at him the whole day. I had no idea what was going on, but he never looked at me. He came and went, working as usual. I was left wondering, 'What kind of crazy man is he?'

Days passed slowly. He began coming to the park more often. As usual, he said nothing and sat beside me for hours before leaving. At some point, I lost the urge to ask him what the reason was.

Days went by like this.

One day, as I was getting ready for the office, I received a call from the grandpa. He said he was in the hospital and asked for my help. I went to the hospital.

Grandpa was sitting in the waiting room, and he told me that grandma had fallen and was in the emergency room. I comforted him, and the doctor assured us that nothing serious had happened – she had fainted due to low sugar levels. We felt relieved.

I went to the pharmacy to buy her medicine. After getting the medication, I returned to the emergency room. There, I saw Lehan standing near grandma and talking to grandpa.

I couldn't help but think, 'Why is he everywhere I go?

I sighed and stepped into the emergency room. Lehan looked equally surprised, rolling his eyes. He asked me, 'Why are you here?'

Then, grandma spoke to him, 'She's the one I always mention whenever you call me.'

Both Lehan and I were left in shock, unsure of what was happening.
