Binding rune, a promise for future

I sucked on her tits, every drop that entered my mouth was sweet and tasty. The demonic mana inside my body also began to increase more and more.

Still it was nowhere near enough. With the pace I am going in, it will take me years to even reach rank 2.

In this human continent, the rank of mages is divided into 8 ranks before my rebirth. After the path of ascension was opened, other realms might have appeared.

The rank 1 which is also called noivice rank is the one where mages learn to gather mana inside them. The ranks are further divided into early, mid and high rank after reaching the high rank 1, they can breakthrough and reach rank 2 also known as apprentice mage.

But only a selected few, mostly from high ranking Nobel families know that there is another stage after high and that is peak. This is the stage where you fill your mana core to the brim and breakthrough only after that.

You can choose to breakthrough after you reach the high rank and your core is stabilised, which actually happens once you gather around 70% of necessary mana for breakthrough.

Now that my core is 10 times bigger, it will take me a lot of time to reach apprentice rank and it will keep getting harder for me.

I can ask Setsuna to bring me out and help me to find the dead bodies of high ranking beasts or humans. But she doesn't have any mana core inside her.

She is a mortal, will she be able to do that?

Asking for help from her was my previous idea, but I had to discard that opinion. Even before that, I have to think of something to hide this demonic mana from my body.

Eleanor and Ayesha are too powerful and I do not think it will be easier to fool them. More than that, if those gods are looking after me then I will have to hide my aura from them for now, at least till I am strong enough to face them.

"I can help."

Hearing my thoughts again, Zixane offered me her help.

You?

"Yep."

And how will you do that?

"I will hide your demonic mana. As a goddess, it will be a piece of cake for me, nobody in the entire world will be able to sense your aura."

Won't that be tiring for you? You might have to do that for centuries.

I asked curiously, rasing and eyebrow. I wondered what she was about to say, but...

"You will have to accept one wish of mine."

It was just one simple request of her.

Just one?

I asked. That wasn't much at all and what more will she even ask about.

"Yep, just one. I will say what that is in the future, but you will have to promise you won't deny my wish when I ask for it."

She said with a firm tone. Her eyes looing at me but at the same time they weren't. It was as if she was looking into the future.

Fine, I promise I will fulfill one wish of yours, whatever that might be.

Though I said that, if it's something too excessive I will just deny it.

"Can you say that out loud?" She asked softly.

At that moment, I didn't notice her making a rune with her finger. Without that knowledge, I repeated what I said out loud.

"I promise to fulfill one wish of yours, whatever that might be."

As she heard that I said, she gave me a smile and nodded her head.

Only then I saw the rune that she made when it came floating between us and entered inside my body.

"It's a promise then."

Did she just made a binding rune? So I have to fullfil her wish now.

"Don't worry, dear husband. I won't ask for anything that will harm you." She smiled at me when saying that.

Well, I have no idea if ehat she says is true or not though.

My eyes feels heavy now. Was I not sleeping just now?

"No, this domain might be a separate space, but you are still considered awake when you are in here. You cannot wake up for too long now since you are a newborn. Have a good sleep, husband."

I closed my eyes after she said that. My body exited from that domain, leaving only Zixane there.

She got up from the bed and slowly m9ved her legs forward. The scene behind her changed with her steps and returned to that same dark space.

"Thousands of years... I am finally free now."

She the arched her back, stretching her arms. After that, she looked up and said,

"The path to godhood has finally been opened. And it's about to be 100000 years now. The war for supremacy... will begin once again. But this time, there will be a victor for sure. Just how far ahead have you planned, husband? I now feel like a mere chess piece that you can move around as you please, but I won't settle for just that, I will be the queen who will aid you to win. I will make sure you win the war this time."

I fell into a deep sleep. I didn't even realise it and slept for 7 hours straight.

I sluggishly opened my eyes. The first thing I saw after waking up was the beautiful face of the woman, my enemy but now my mother, Eleanor.

"Good morning, baby."

She greeted me sweetly.

I sighed inwardly. Am I going to pretend like a baby again?

But she wasn't the only one inside the room. The saintess, Ayesha, was also present there, holding a big white pot on her hand.

"The purification liquid is complete. Will you take him with you so we can bathe him?"

Obviously I am.
