Tharion, instead of looking alarmed, just let out a dry chuckle. "Shouldn't you be happy? Weren't you just screaming at me to die a few days ago?"

Thalina huffed. "Oh, trust me, I'm thrilled." She rolled her eyes, flipping her hair over her shoulder for dramatic effect.

She was not thrilled. He was turning pale, his movements sluggish. The poison was spreading fast.

Without wasting time, she yanked her book from her bag and flipped through the pages, her fingers moving so fast she almost ripped one. "Come on, come on…" she muttered, eyes darting over the text.

The page shifted, new words appearing before her eyes.

"Another section: Creatures from another world."

Thalina's breath hitched. Her eyes flicked up to Tharion, then back to the book.
