Chapter 64:

I groan, pressing my palm against my forehead as another wave of heat rushes through me.

It started about an hour ago—this unbearable fever that makes my body feel like it's burning from the inside out.

My skin feels too tight, my limbs ache, and my head throbs with an intensity that makes it hard to think.

I push the blankets off, only to shiver violently as cool air brushes against my damp skin.

Sweat clings to me, making the fabric of my nightshirt stick uncomfortably to my back. I feel awful.

Taking a deep breath, I force myself to sit up. The moment I do, dizziness crashes over me, and I have to grip the edge of the mattress to steady myself.

My vision swims for a second before settling.

I need air.

Caspian left early this morning to deal with the rogues pushing closer to the wall. He doesn't know about the fever.

And honestly, I don't want to bother him with it. He already has enough on his plate.
