Chapter 67:

The scent of warm broth fills the room, but I can't bring myself to eat it. I can barely even look at it.

The pain in my bones, the ache that's consumed my body for the past four days, is enough to make even the simplest of actions unbearable.

Yet Caspian is hovering over me, spoon in hand, determination written all over his face.

"Please, just a little," he begs, his voice soft but desperate. "You haven't eaten in days, Lilah. You need your strength."

I shake my head, pulling the covers up to my chin, turning my face away from the spoon he's trying to shove in my mouth.

"I'm not hungry," I mutter, my voice thin and tired.

"You have to eat." He doesn't give up. "Just a bite. One bite."

"I said I'm not hungry," I snap, my headache worsening with each word I speak. The pressure in my skull is unbearable. Every time I try to chew, the pain intensifies.
