Chapter 80: Black Dwarf - Steal My Wife?

While Peter was undergoing treatment, the battlefield elsewhere began to take a surprising turn.

Not long after Iron Man left, Captain America discovered what the "reinforcements" were.

It was a team led by a "big guy" accompanied by a few "smaller ones."

The "big guy" was a towering mech, standing as tall as a two-story building, with a clunky yet imposing appearance—none other than the Hulkbuster Armor developed by Iron Man and Dr. Banner.

This armor, apart from its brief use against the Hulk two years ago during the fight with Ultron, had mostly been collecting dust in the Avengers' headquarters. After all, it was a large-scale war machine, rarely needed under normal circumstances.

As for the smaller companions, they were several unmanned Iron Man suits flying alongside it.

Boom!

The Hulkbuster came crashing down from the sky, landing heavily on Black Dwarf.

At this moment, Black Dwarf was using his usual tactic—attacking Captain America from above, pummeling him relentlessly.

Captain America, meanwhile, was enduring the onslaught in a classic pose: kneeling on one knee, struggling to hold his ground.

Suddenly, Black Dwarf spun around, swinging his massive scythe toward the Hulkbuster.

The Hulkbuster, controlled by FRIDAY's intelligent system, raised its right arm. A shield extended, blocking Black Dwarf's attack.

Simultaneously, a cannon emerged from its left arm, firing a point-blank blast at Black Dwarf's head.

Buzz!

Black Dwarf's head buzzed violently.

Even though his defense was formidable, it didn't make him immune to shockwaves.

In gaming terms, Black Dwarf was now stunned.

Under the Hulkbuster's massive frame, Black Dwarf was knocked off his feet.

Seizing the opportunity, Captain America sprang to his feet, delivering a series of payback strikes for the beating he had endured earlier.

The Hulkbuster and its smaller counterparts all focused their firepower on Black Dwarf.

After several seconds of relentless attacks, Black Dwarf's defenses finally gave way under one of the blows.

Strange-colored blood began seeping from beneath his skin.

"ROAR! ...¥@¥!¥*¥%&…!"

Black Dwarf let out a furious roar, seemingly entering a berserk state. Grabbing one of the unmanned Iron Man suits, he smashed it against the ground with immense force. Then, twisting violently, he attempted to tear it apart.

However, these suits were made of titanium alloy, known for its extreme toughness and durability—not something that could be easily torn apart.

After several attempts, Black Dwarf only managed to bend and damage the suit.

Frustrated, he tossed the ruined suit aside and reached for his massive scythe.

To his dismay, the scythe was nowhere to be found!

Perplexed, Black Dwarf looked around, only to spot a figure in the distance running off with his weapon.

A question mark slowly appeared above Black Dwarf's head.

Then came the rage.

For Black Dwarf, whose intellect was already somewhat lacking, his weapon was akin to a lifelong partner—his one true love.

"For the rest of my life, it's you..."

But now, his one true love had been snatched away!

It felt as though someone had slammed the word "betrayal" right onto his forehead.

-1 Intelligence.

-100 Reason.

Black Dwarf gained a buff: Berserk.

With his massive frame and armored bulk, he charged forward like a heavy tank.

Captain America, clutching the massive scythe, was startled and quickened his pace.

Stealing Black Dwarf's Wife—Uh, Giant Scythe—Was Actually a Spur-of-the-Moment Decision

Black Dwarf was the type with high defense and thick skin but relatively weak offensive capabilities.

However, the giant scythe he wielded more than made up for his lack of firepower.

This massive weapon wasn't just powerful—it could also extend and retract, much like a type of weapon known as a morning star.

Captain America thought that taking it might be the key to turning the tide of the battle.

The only problem was, the scythe was incredibly heavy.

Thud!

Before Black Dwarf could get too far, the Hulkbuster Armor slammed into him, sending him crashing back to the ground.

The two massive figures began to wrestle fiercely, rolling around on the ground.

Nearby trees were torn to shreds in the chaos.

Captain America, carrying Black Dwarf's "wife" (the giant scythe), sprinted a good distance away. He didn't stop until the sounds of battle had faded. He then tossed the scythe aside with a chuckle.

"Now we're set."

He thought to himself as he turned and made his way back.

When Captain America returned to the battlefield, he found the area in utter ruin.

Not a single tree or plant remained untouched, all buried in the dirt.

Black Dwarf and the Hulkbuster stood in the middle of it, exchanging punches as if on some strange yet courteous terms.

However, this situation was abruptly interrupted by an unexpected arrival.

Black Dwarf, who had been thrown off rhythm by his lost weapon and the Hulkbuster's disruption, shifted his rage back onto Captain America as soon as he spotted him returning.

Seizing a nearby fallen tree, Black Dwarf ripped off the branches and hurled the massive trunk at Captain America.

Captain America had discarded his shield to steal the scythe earlier, so he had no way to block.

Seeing the giant tree trunk speeding toward him, he dove to the ground, rolling to avoid it.

But just as he did, another rock flew at him.

Captain America tried to dodge but realized it was too late.

Meanwhile, the Hulkbuster charged forward once more, knocking Black Dwarf to the ground again. The two were back to rolling around in a brutal fight.

At that moment, just as Captain America thought he might be hit by the rock, a figure suddenly shot out from the side.

Boom!

The figure lunged at Captain America, grabbing him and pulling him to safety.

Captain America looked at his savior, recognizing the familiar suit. "Peter? Wait, you're Tony's Spider-Boy, right?"

The figure, Dutch Spider, asked in confusion, "Uh, hello, Captain. I'm Peter, also known as Spider-Boy. What's going on here?"

Captain America pointed toward the chaos. "An alien's trying to steal our stuff, so Stark, Peter, and I are here to stop them."

"An alien? That's one big guy!" Dutch Spider exclaimed. "But I just got here…"

Captain America explained, "We encountered a Spider-Man from a parallel universe. His name's also Peter, but he's from Earth-2099. You'll meet him sometime."

"Wow!" Dutch Spider's eyes lit up. "A parallel universe? And we have the same name? And he's also Spider-Man? That's so cool! Where is he? Can I meet him?"

Captain America, sighing, pointed back at the battle. "Do you think it's a good time to meet him now?"

Dutch Spider nodded seriously. "I get it, Captain. Let's take him down first!"

Without waiting for Captain America's response, he charged straight into the fray.

"Hey!" Captain America called after him.

The contrast between Peter's maturity and Dutch Spider's recklessness was evident after just a short exchange.

Though they both had a strong sense of justice, Dutch Spider was clearly much younger, making it hard for Captain America to feel fully at ease with him.
