"Ugh—cough, cough!"
George Stacy struggled to his feet, clutching his nose as he coughed violently a few times. After steadying himself, he reached for his subordinate and helped him up as well.
He pulled out his handgun, ready to lead his team into the building.
The enemy had already used explosives—this was clearly a vicious terrorist attack!
However, before he could take more than two steps, several strands of webbing shot toward them from behind.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
In an instant, George Stacy, his subordinate, and several officers who had been preparing to move in were all yanked backward. The webbing bound them to nearby vehicles, rendering them completely immobile.
"Hey, officer, I heard you were looking for me? Too bad we don't have time to catch up."
A masked figure in a white and pink suit landed in front of George Stacy—Spider-Gwen. She deliberately lowered her voice as she spoke.
"You—Spider-Woman—!" George Stacy's eyes widened as he tried to respond, but before he could say another word, Gwen shot another web, sealing his mouth shut.
"Officer, I have a feeling I wouldn't like what you were about to say, so let's just skip that part."
With that, Gwen turned around and leaped into the smoke-filled chaos of the explosion, disappearing into the museum.
George Stacy struggled in vain, but the webbing held firm—he couldn't break free.
Inside the Museum
The once-grand museum was now nothing more than ruins, reduced to rubble by the explosion.
Gwen crouched atop a shattered reception desk, her sharp eyes scanning in all directions.
"Hey! I know you're here. Come on out!"
Whoosh!
A sharp sound cut through the air.
At the same time, Gwen's spider-sense flared—so intensely that it felt abnormal.
She didn't understand why, but instinctively turned toward the source of the warning.
However, just as she was about to dodge, she realized—whatever was coming at her was much faster than she had anticipated.
As the massive figure hurtled toward her, a shadow suddenly descended from above, landing right in front of her.
Boom!
The hulking figure that had been aiming straight for her came to an abrupt stop.
Screech!
Its large wings scraped against the ground, leaving deep gouges in the museum's marble floor.
The sheer force behind its attack was enough to demolish an entire wall—but the figure standing before Gwen, only slightly taller than her, didn't budge an inch.
Gwen stared in shock at the person in front of her.
Her spider-sense, which had been screaming in alarm just moments ago, suddenly went silent—as if even it had decided there was no longer any danger.
"What Do You Want to Do to Her?"
Peter reached out, gripping the massive figure's face tightly.
His fingers dug deep, puncturing several holes in its head. The creature's skin—if it could be called that—gave way, allowing his fingers to sink into the gaps, pinning its face in place.
Not long ago, Peter might not have used such brutal tactics.
But after the intense battle he had just endured, his heart had hardened.
If he hadn't found this thing useful, he would have crushed its entire face just now—leaving it dead on the spot.
Creak... creak...
The grotesque creature let out a grating noise, making the air feel heavier.
Peter studied it carefully.
It had a humanoid form but bore a pair of massive wings on its back. Its body had a strange texture—almost like kraft paper. It even felt like kraft paper.
Yet its sharp, intelligent eyes and human-like facial features made it clear—it wasn't just some lifeless paper construct. This was a sentient being.
And for some reason, it looked oddly familiar.
Then it clicked.
It bore a striking resemblance to the Vulture from Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994).
In that version, the Vulture had built himself a pair of mechanical wings and stolen the power of the Tablet of Time—turning the 1994 Spider-Man into an old man.
The design of that Vulture and this creature were almost identical.
The only difference?
Material and color.
This "kraft-paper Vulture" had the same dull brown-gray hue as actual kraft paper.
Come to think of it, its color scheme wasn't too far off from the Shadow-Spider either.
They all had a color scheme limited to just one or two dark and cool tones.
"Peter?"
Gwen's voice came from behind.
Peter turned his head as the nanotech particles around his helmet dispersed, revealing his face. "It's me, Gwen. I'm here."
Gwen stood frozen in place.
After days apart, the stark contrast between then and now only made her miss Peter even more.
But now that he was right in front of her, she suddenly didn't know how to react.
Boom!
Peter casually raised his arm, lifting the kraft-paper Vulture off the ground before hurling him with force.
The creature crashed heavily into a pile of rubble.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Several strands of quantum web shot out, binding the kraft-paper Vulture tightly.
Pa!
Behind him, Gwen gently wrapped her arms around Peter. "Did you come to take me away from here?"
"Yes," Peter replied as he deactivated his nano vibranium Spider suit. The nanotech particles flowed like liquid, retreating into the pendant on his chest.
Gwen had already let go of him.
Peter turned to face her and asked, "Will you come with me?"
"I will!"
Gwen had been waiting for this day for so long—she agreed without hesitation.
"Wait here for a moment. I need to take care of something first." Peter nodded before walking toward the kraft-paper Vulture.
This guy was obviously a villain.
Perfect for testing out an idea he had.
"Heh heh heh!"
Seeing Peter approach, the kraft-paper Vulture struggled violently. His large, paper-like eyes widened as if he could somehow kill Peter with his glare alone.
Too bad he wasn't some kind of demon king—he couldn't unleash a deathly seductive gaze.
So no matter how fierce his eyes looked, their threat level to Peter was essentially zero.
Peter took a few steps closer, standing over him. "Are you Toomes?"
At the same time, he reached down and ripped away the webbing that had sealed the Vulture's mouth.
"You're another Spider-Man? No… you're not. You—"
The kraft-paper Vulture had barely spoken a few words when his entire body was suddenly covered in a cascade of vibrant, shifting patterns. His form began to distort uncontrollably, and he let out a series of agonized screams.
"Huh?"
Peter frowned slightly.
This… wasn't this the quantum collapse phenomenon that only occurred with unauthorized multiversal travel?
What?
Was this kraft-paper Vulture actually from another universe?
But how was that possible?
The anomalies in the Ultimate Universe before had been caused by Kingpin's particle collider—but that collider had already been destroyed. And before that, they had deliberately used the override key to perform a reverse operation.
Logically, any lingering effects from the collider should have been erased!
Or… was there something they had overlooked?
Did something else slip through the cracks?
As these thoughts raced through Peter's mind, he crouched down and injected a bit of quantum energy into the kraft-paper Vulture's body.
"Ahhh~ that feels good~~"
