Chapter 157: The Death of Electro

This place appeared to be an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city.

However, at this moment, a significant number of people had gathered here.

It was clear that they were divided into two opposing groups.

On one side stood six individuals dressed in bizarre outfits.

The first was a Caucasian man crackling with electricity, wearing a green suit with a long yellow collar around his neck, making him look rather strange.

The second was a man with an upside-down fishbowl on his head, from which smoke billowed, giving him an air of mystery.

The third had sand constantly trickling from his body.

The fourth bore a pair of massive wings on his back.

The fifth wore a tiger-skin coat with a lion's mane scarf wrapped around his neck, seemingly unbothered by the heat.

The sixth had four long, mechanical tentacles writhing menacingly behind him.

Their unique appearances made them instantly recognizable to Peter the moment he saw them.

Electro, Mysterio, Sandman, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, Doctor Octopus!

It was none other than the Sinister Six!

Opposing them stood a lone figure clad in a Spider-Man suit, but with a massive skull emblem emblazoned across his chest.

These two symbols immediately brought to mind two well-known figures within the Marvel Universe—

Spider-Man and the Punisher!

The Punisher, also known as "Uncle Punisher" by some, was one of Marvel's most infamous anti-heroes. He had no superpowers but possessed exceptional combat skills, proficient in using both firearms and melee weapons.

His philosophy was simple: "If you're guilty, you die."

This starkly contrasted with Spider-Man's belief that "With great power comes great responsibility."

Yet, despite their vastly different ideologies, these two elements had somehow merged into a single individual.

This unexpected fusion left Peter, Gwen, and Electro visibly surprised.

The three had arrived roughly twenty meters from the factory, where an intense battle was already raging between the seven combatants. None of them had noticed the newcomers yet.

A moment ago, an explosion—likely caused by one of the clashes—had sent debris flying, which happened to pass through the portal.

Electro frowned. "That guy… don't tell me he's another Spider-Man killer?"

As he spoke, sparks of electricity flickered around his body, indicating his readiness to strike.

Having lived under the constant threat of Spider-Man killers, he had developed an almost instinctive hostility toward anyone who targeted Spider-Men.

Peter raised a hand to stop him.

This Punisher-Spider hybrid reminded him of Shadow Spider—someone who had adopted elements of Spider-Man's mindset while also possessing the Punisher's ruthless decisiveness.

Perhaps he could be called Punisher Spider-Man?

Punisher-Spider?

If that were truly the case, then the ones being "punished" were undoubtedly guilty.

And if one had to choose between siding with Spider-Man/Punisher or the Sinister Six, then 90% of people would favor the former.

No matter how ruthless the Punisher was, his targets were usually the truly wicked, and he rarely harmed innocent people without reason.

On the other hand, the Sinister Six…

Sure, some members had reformed, like Electro, or Sandman from another universe, or even Doctor Octopus from Tobey's world.

But Peter refused to believe that the Sinister Six could ever band together and suddenly become the Righteous Six.

For now, Peter and his group decided to stay put and observe.

Meanwhile, the battle on the other side was starting to shift.

The Punisher Spider had clearly undergone rigorous training—his physique was more imposing than any Spider-Man Peter had ever encountered.

Beneath the tight Punisher Spider suit, his muscular frame was distinctly defined, each muscle block standing out.

Yet, his formidable build did nothing to hinder his agility.

He weaved effortlessly through the attacks of six supervillains, dodging a high-voltage blast from Electro one moment and evading the hunting net thrown by Kraven the Hunter the next.

Even when Mysterio unleashed his nerve-disrupting mist, it had no effect on him.

It was evident that he had prepared in advance, making himself immune to Mysterio's neurotoxic gas.

At a certain moment, he suddenly appeared in front of Electro.

Then, a small opening on his left wrist's web-shooter revealed a dark barrel.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

Electro laughed, "Bullets are useless against me—"

Bzzzt—

The bullet struck Electro's lightning-formed body, but instead of passing through harmlessly, it released a strange surge of energy.

It was an EMP round!

An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) isn't particularly effective as a standard infantry weapon.

It requires an immense energy supply to generate a powerful enough pulse.

However, at this moment, Electro himself was an enormous energy source!

Boom!

A deafening explosion erupted.

A violent electromagnetic storm surged outward, instantly engulfing the area.

Punisher Spider had already distanced himself in anticipation.

Meanwhile, the other five members of the Sinister Six, caught off guard, were momentarily stunned and immobilized.

But the most unfortunate one was the "target" himself.

Electro, the one meticulously plotted against, was completely obliterated by the EMP round!

All of his energy was drained in an instant.

He was beyond dead—completely erased!

Beside Peter, another Electro looked at his fallen counterpart, a flicker of fear crossing his eyes.

Truth be told, if he hadn't mentally prepared himself beforehand, he wouldn't have been able to evade it either.

Ever since he became Electro and gained his ionized Logia-like abilities, conventional attacks had ceased to pose a threat to him.

Over time, he had grown careless, no longer wary of such assaults.

But the tragic fate of this world's Electro served as a stark warning!

"He came prepared! Stay vigilant!" Doctor Octopus shouted.

"Attacking Max like that—how despicable!" Sandman roared. As someone also immune to conventional physical attacks, he felt a sense of kinship with Electro and was disturbed by his sudden demise.

"Kill him!" Vulture bellowed.

However, Punisher Spider merely gazed at them coldly.

No amount of cursing or wailing could shake his resolve.

If one listened closely, they could hear him murmuring to himself:

"The powers I was given… exist so I can bear the responsibility I must bear, to punish all evil… so that no more 'Uncles Ben' will have to pay the price. Because with great power… comes great responsibility."
