'Let me...'

'This is it. I can do this. I can... do this.' Florian thought, his heart pounding violently against his ribs as he walked alongside Levi. The sound of their footsteps felt too loud in the eerie silence of the hideout. Levi had come back for him after freshening up, his expression unreadable but his actions steady.

He had already assured Florian that the emergency exit was open and ready, that he had left subtle marks on the walls to guide him.

Florian didn't know how to thank him enough. Escaping was only step one—after that, he had to figure out where to go. And for that, he needed to be prepared. He gripped the makeshift fork and spear he had crafted, noting Levi's raised brow when he caught sight of them.

"I knew it. I could've sworn I gave you a fork," Levi muttered, eyeing the crude weaponry.

Florian could only offer a small, knowing smile. "I told you I had a plan."
