"What?!" Emma shouted with a fearful expression.
"If I'm not next then, would you mind letting me rest? The night is just a few minutes away." The little girl said, lying down inside the cage.
"Wait, I'll get you out of here first! Those evil guys might come soon." Emma responded, throwing a glance at the corpse near her.
"So you're not going to murder me like Bee?" The little girl asked, with her serious face fading away. Slowly being replaced by tears.
"Of course not! I'm not a monster like those guys you know." Emma said, walking towards the girl with shaky legs.
'Why? Why am I afraid, is it because the NIght is near?' Emma took a look at the corpse again, and she could feel her heart rate increase.
'The dead kid? Well, who wouldn't be scared to see a dead child right in front of them.'
For some reason Emma didn't think of the child's corpse in front of her when she was afraid. Memories of Orm, Tildoor, and Isabella's corpse came to mind instead. Emma only grew more fearful as she approached the little girl.
"What's taking so long?" the little girl in rags asked her.
"If you don't mind me asking, why did those people murdered that kid?" Emma asked, looking away at the corpse.
"They killed Bee because they ran out of clothes to give." The little girl said, looking down at the ground.
"What?!" Emma shouted. 'Monsters. Despicable disgusting horrifying monsters. They deserve nothing but death, or even worse.'
Emma finally reached the giant sliver cage, She tried to pull apart the bars with her bare strength but failed. The little girl's eyes that burned with hope, died down. She lay on the cages floor, sealing her eyes shut.
"I'll just pick up this cage then!" Emma shouted when she saw the kid lay down. She wanted to free the child so bad, but she was just too weak.
Memories from a few days ago popped up again. The memories of Luna, the wishing star, and all of them. All of those past few days. She was weak.
So weak that she probably couldn't even save herself if something bad happened. Emma tried to pull up the cage, but this sight of the corpse terrified her. Just seeing it move as she picked it, was terrifying.
"Hurry, or put it down! I hear someone coming!" The little girl softly shouted at her.
Footsteps reverberated across the caravan. Emma quickly put it down, and changed back into a chest of gold and silver.
Meanwhile the little girl pretended to sleep, like a child who stayed up too long then they were supposed to. She was trying her best to hide her heavy breathing.
"Is that you 'Product'? Do you want to get replaced with a new one?" A voice sounding like Cpel shouted.
The little girl's breathing grew more heavy, to Emma it was obvious she was afraid. And that didn't help the little girl go to sleep at all.
"I can hear you y'know. Just go to sleep before I have to deal with another Lost 'Product'. This is your last chance, so make use of it." Cpel shouted, as the footsteps began to sound more distant.
'Close.'
Emma knew the Night was coming soon, but she couldn't just leave the kid behind. 'But wouldn't it bring greater risk if I brought her with me. A child couldn't possibly withstand the Night. What should I do?'
"Just go. You couldn't possibly even free me, even with the Night nearing. You can't beat those guys, save yourself, and leave me be." The little girl told Emma, With tears rolling down her face.
"I know what to do! I'll just wait till morning before those guys show up, and so that the Night passes. You can still be free, dont give up just yet I'll save you. I promise I will." Emma responded, trying her best to south the child.
"Just sleep for now. I'll wake you when it's time." Emma said turning back into a chest, she planned to be asleep as one.
"Ok." The girl said, with a tired voice.
The morning had just come, Emma just woke up, shifting back to her original self. She saw that the silver cage was still there, safe and sound.
'Whew.'
Emma went over to the part of the caravan where it had been. She had felt like she was barely awake, meaning she had no sense of her current surroundings. Other than the fact the little girl was still in that cage.
'I promised, so I absolutely have too'
Emma had already begun trying to pick up the cage, remembering that she couldn't bust it open for some reason.
After four tries she had done it, while doing so the child had woken up to see Emma's face through the bars.
"Good morning," Emma said with a yawn.
The little girl immediately backed away from Emma, as far as she could at least, then remembered their conversation from last night.
"Your doing it!" The little girl rejoiced.
Emma made sure to check outside before she left, and took the cage with the girl, and something else that Emma couldn't really see at the moment.
Surprisingly the two easily escaped those evil merchants, making the distance between them at least 6 blocks. Emma put down the cage gently, at this point they were near the former E-teams base.
"Wait here a second, I'll call someone to help free you." Emma said.
She had left the girl inside one of the buildings so that those traders wouldn't find her. Emma headed towards the base to fetch Oliver.
'I'm glad that worked out well, what was I even freaking out about before?'
Emma told Oliver what had happened to her, he had a somewhat disgusted expression on his face.
"Dont worry about those guys, they shall feel the never ending flames of justice! Oh, and you should inform the Madame that you did her task, the stuff you found out is more than enough to get those guys beyond arrest. " Oliver said, stroming out of the building with Eye's blades. That Emma had retrieved.
