'Yes!' I said, my voice full of hunger, as the system asked if I wanted to make this my one and only contact. The tone of my voice surprised me. Was this another characteristic of the human body? The hunger for power?
I've seen many beasts hungry for power, but none had this reaction. Was it a reflex?
[...Well done! You are now a contractor. Would you like to see your profile before you go back to the human world?]
'Is that a question? Of course, I want to!' I said annoyed by the system's dumb question. It was an obvious question, but after all, the system didn't have a mind of its own, so that it could tell the difference between a good and bad question. Even I sometimes can't.

I had a dumbfounded look on my face. These skills belonged to me and my past life, but their name wasn't exactly the same. Also, if this beast was meant to be me, which made sense with the whole reminiscence of the past thing, why was my name Destiny?
I was never called that name, so then why was the system calling me that?
'Let's take a look at all of these, just in case anything changed.'
[Destiny]- The son of both Cosmos and Aurora. These two dragons were known for their power, their son, went on to become the leader of the Memory Beast and was later nicknamed The Beast King.
'Interesting.' I didn't know a lot about my parents, so this was useful. Also if they were such a great beast, why did they get a contract? They could have easily taken over humanity with their power combined. And I still didn't know why I was called Destiny.
[Kings Authority]- A great king should make his enemies bow beneath him, and if it comes to it, his allies too. No one should look up at the great king, if they do, their bodies will be torn limb by limb. You can control gravity with your hand, but in return, gravity itself holds a grudge toward you.[LV 1]
'Man am I going to have fun with this ability again.' It is actually much more than the description says, it's a power only stopped by imagination. It doesn't stop on people, you can use it on weapons and any other physical object. But the everyday gravitational pressure is much stronger than anyone else's, to the point you can barely move.
[Pawn Of Despair- Born as a lone soldier, you are the weakest of the weakest. There is nothing special about you to differentiate you from the rest. You are forced to watch the greats all while you suffer. But, that doesn't sit right with you. You will win, even if it means abandoning yourself. This skill grants you the power to copy skills, but, you can only copy one per five hours, and the power is only half of its original self. [Lv1]
'Yes!' This was perfect! I had wanted to learn this skill. Not because it's strong—actually, it's quite weak in the beginning. But the fact that I got it now means that I'll have time to level it up. So this was more like a future investment.
[Son Of Cosmos]- The Dragon Of Cosmos was considered the strongest of his time, only overthrown by his son, who gained some of his skills and relationships. This passive renders you immune to all gravitational attacks.
I laughed. This was the reason I didn't panic after hearing [Kings Authority] drawback because this passive completely nullified it. It didn't do anything else, which is pretty disappointing keeping in mind what my passives were in the trial.
[King of the Forgotten Army]- After your army got annihilated by The Great Hero, you wander through worlds, trying to find yourself some new men to follow your orders. To recreate your army. This passive makes people more inclined to either make you the leader of a group or to join your group more easily.
'Huh? I don't remember this passive, did I gain it while I was sealed? Well, then I'm going to have to test it one day.
And these were the skills and passives I would have to work with. They weren't bad, but they weren't the best. Especially since they are small level. But I'll make it work sometime.
'Well, there is nothing for me to do now. So I think it's time to go home.'
[Do you wish to return to the human world?]
I stayed silent for a second. Thinking for a second of what will come next. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but one thing was for sure. I had to somehow prepare for The Core.
But how? After all, I didn't want to kill Memory Beasts, but how else would I gain experience to level up my skills? Well... I'll let the future me worry about it.
'Yes.' As that word came out, a giant portal rose from the ground. Made out of stone, it had grass growing on its rocky surface. Some small flowers had blossomed on the small patches of grass.
Inside it, a white fire burned with great hunger for power. 'Well, at least we have something in common.'
The heat was tolerable, it didn't feel like the sun was roasting you alive, instead, it felt like a warm breeze. Like the morning of a summer day. Where the sun still hasn't fully risen, and when the night was the worst part of the day.
The fire would have moments where it burst into the air in random directions. But this only gave it a more majestic look to it. The stone exterior and the shiny gray that was closer to white than anything, in the interior.
I took a deep breath, and my feet approached the warm gate.
'Here we go! It's time for my life as a contractor to begin.'
