A Petal in the Wind

The bell rang, releasing me from the prison I had been trapped in for the last eight hours. I sighed, carrying my bag on my back. I looked around, seeing that everyone else had someone around them to walk them home. But I was still alone.

"But that doesn't bother me at all!" I said while dashing to get home. It wasn't like I was expecting a warm hug or someone to wait for me. There never has been and there won't be anyone who would do such a thing for me. "I wish I had a sibling..." That way, there would be someone for me.

Unfortunately, I was born an only child, so I had to walk the same road every day for eternity, all alone, with only myself and I to keep me company. However, it was calming not to have anyone around who could bother me. The setting sun created a beautiful view.
