Ep.7

Jacob was true to his word as he had already begun healing Mara's little brother by augmenting his cellular structure to absorb and regulate Mana.

It truly was a daunting process to undertake but Jacob kept his promise and didn't leave until his work was done.

Normally several Doctors and nurses would be amazed to see Mara's brother recover from a fatal disease. But Jacob used a camouflage ward to make it seem like nothing was happening.

But during the process Jacob felt something else inside.

'He wasn't missing Mana… someone sealed it completely… I'll have to inform Mara and Gaia of this development before departing.'

Jacob had seen many times over a Celestial's Avatar scheme and kill other Avatars so this was no doubt a plot to weaken Gaia's Avatar and weaken Gaia in the process.

And he could reveal the culprit by using the knowledge of the Ethereal Realm. However it wasn't his battle to fight.

'I can't interfere anytime soon. Building the Towers are more important.'

Jacob had only just begun his journey to make the towers. But once Mara's brother was healed Jacob created a portal with his staff and stepped through to the heart of London. However his presence was easily noticed as he felt the edge of a blade at his throat.

Jacob used a specter's eye to gaze at the woman holding the knife to his throat and gave a small chuckle.

"Your quite bold for a Rank 3 Assassin Class, Mel Glazil."

Jacob kept notes of any noticeable humans and Mel was one of them for one of her skills that was almost akin to a Deity's ability.

"State your business or I'll cut your throat!"

Mel's skill was very unique and quite powerful.

'She calls it Necrotic Magic I believe. She still lacks the power to properly utilize her powers.'

In simple terms Mel was an Assassin with the power of a Necromancer who can't control undead. These was only one other being in the Universe who had power over death and that was the Goddess of death, Hel.

'It's a shame Hel can't claim Mel as her Avatar. She would be on par with a Rank 8 Hunter.'

It wasn't just Mel's ability that intrigued Jacob as she had the chance to become Hel's Avatar but refused.

If she had become an Avatar she would have been given immense power but she had refused because of the drawbacks such as constant observing, Dominion Management and Faction Leadership. Jacob didn't imagine to see Mel so soon since he wanted to give her a chance to be a Tower Climber like Aiden.

"I am here on some personal business. I mean no harm to civilians or Hunters. Now if you'll excuse me I have work to do."

Jacob snapped Mel's dagger in two before swiftly disappearing like he was never there at all.

"What the?! Are you kidding me?! I just bought that dagger!"

Jacob cloaked himself as he watched Mel throw a tantrum over her dagger that he broke.

'She feels death all around herself… but she lacks its beauty so I guess she will be a suitable Climber.'

So once again Jacob started to create the second Tower by infusing the aspect of Life and Death in its walls.

Mel had a grasp of what Death truly was but she couldn't imagine what life becomes after death.

And once again Jacob constructed the rune and sent it to find Mel.

Only this time Jacob cloaked himself from prying eyes and entered the tower to begin his work.

Meanwhile Mara was watching Aiden get reevaluated for his Hunter Rank.

'He spoke the truth… Aiden's now a High Rank 4 Hunter.'

Mara and the numerous Hunter Examiners could hardly believe how fast Aiden had grown.

"Mana count at 40 thousand and climbing… vitals are stable… what caused such spontaneous growth?"

Mara turned to her left to see Zeus's Avatar and the Hunter Bureau's CEO Karan Olmen enter the room with a tablet of Aiden's information.

"I already told you Karan. The Tower was what caused Aiden to grow exponentially. If what I've been told was true then death haunts that place before being reborn."

Karan felt Zeus growing more curious while Gaia inhabited Mara's body.

"Zeus, you would do well to remember your place and control your Avatar. A change is coming and one that cannot be stopped even by us Celestial's."

Zeus quickly inhabited Karan's body and started to lean on the window overlooking the examination room.

"What else do you know about this entity? I heard you personally requested your Avatar to free them from jail after being arrested and had all knowledge of his activities erased."

"Like you haven't done the same as altering a few Humans Memories. Wasn't that how you got your Avatar to be the CEO of the Hunter Bureau?"

Almost instantaneously all the electronics in the building started short circuiting before they returned to normal.

"Struck a nerve did I? Just remember our arrangement or I'll bring your whole kingdom down on your head."

By now Zeus was clearly infuriated but couldn't do anything for two reasons. One of which was that Gaia was too strong to take on alone. But the other reason was that he needed Gaia's support for his plan wether he wanted it or not.

"Fine… I'll let this go… for now."

The two Celestial's continued to watch Aiden's examination in silence before the monitor to their right turned on.

Mara and Gaia instantly became anxious as they saw a tower in London appear.

'He made another Tower…. Then that means…'

'Yes Mara, there's another climber like the Boy. We must keep our eyes on the boy.'

Only Gaia and Mara knew how dangerous a climber would become as Jacob personally said that a Climber was unlike anything they could imagine. After all Aiden was a Low Rank 1 Hunter but after just one climb in the Tower he became a High Rank 4 Hunter on the verge of Rank 5.

No one else could accomplish anything like that.

But this did leave both Mara and Gaia to wonder who this new climber is and what were they doing.

But none of them could guess that the new climber was in another Realm devoid of life and surrounded by darkness.

"Where the hell am I?!"
