Vivian immediately stroked her stepfather's shoulder, trying to calm him down. "Dad, never mind, you don't need to hit her. Let Cassandra explain what happened exactly."
Geoffry turned to Vivian's son with a flat expression. Meanwhile, Jordan, silent while holding his head, began to speak up.
This time, the young man with golden brown hair stood up and looked at Cassandra sarcastically. "I'm really disappointed with you, Cassandra. I didn't expect you to be so easy!" Jordan took a long breath and said, "We're two months away from getting married, but last night, you were flirting with another man. I saw you clearly, how you kissed hotly and you let him grope your body. Even I, your fiancé, never did anything like that. I took good care of you because I respected your privacy in wanting to remain a virgin until marriage."
Cassandra recalled her findings this morning. She had lost her virginity that was supposed to be given to Jordan when she got married. Instead, she gave it to a stranger who was now her husband.
"Jordan, I... I'm ...." Cassandra didn't have time to finish her sentence, but Jordan had already cut her off.
"What's wrong with you? Do you want to deceive me again? You're such a traitor; I'm disappointed in you!" Jordan snapped, then produced a video from his cell phone. The footage showed Cassandra dancing wildly with Charles.
Cassandra even let Charles stroke her waist and kiss her slender neck. Seeing the video, Cassandra could only cover her mouth and was shocked.
"No... this can't be," Cassandra muttered as she placed the phone on the table.
"Are you still denying it now? How long have you been with him? What have you done with him? Or are you doing this all for money, Cassandra? Didn't you say you wanted to start a business and needed a lot of capital?" Jordan asked fiercely.
"I regret having a daughter like you, too!" exclaimed Geoffry.
Vivian immediately approached Cassandra and hugged her. "Cassandra, you should just confess the truth to Jordan and Dad. Tell them the truth: What are you doing with that man? You should also apologize to them. Maybe Dad can forgive you."
"I don't know how it could be like that, Vivian. You also know that that night, we went to the club together and celebrated your birthday," Cassandra replied while turning to Vivian.
Vivian paused for a moment and then shook her blonde hair.
"Yes, we did come together, but I didn't see you after that. There were so many people around me that I couldn't tell if you were still around me," Vivian replied, then moved closer to Jordan and patted his arm.
"Jordan, you should talk about this matter properly. There might be something in you that my sister is uncomfortable with, and she ended up having a relationship with that man behind your back," Vivian said.
Cassandra had to admit that her half-sister was very articulate. Since she arrived in the Miller family with her mother, Vivian has managed to get the attention of Cassandra's usually cold father. Vivian could even restore Cassandra's joy because of her mother's death a year before Vivian's arrival.
Jordan only glanced sarcastically at Cassandra. "Huh, talking a good game? Didn't you see what your sister did? What's the point of talking nicely with her?"
"Jordan... I'm not like that. I really just met that guy." Cassandra moved closer to Jordan this time and tried to rub his arm.
"Don't touch me with that filthy hand of yours! I really don't want to deal with a slut like you!" Jordan immediately pushed Cassandra's body violently until she fell backward.
Just then, Charles caught Cassandra's body and supported her from falling. Cassandra turned around, and the two looked at each other for a few seconds, creating an awkward atmosphere.
"Thank you," Cassandra said.
Just then, they both heard Jordan clapping. "Wow, you've made things clear, Cassandra!" Jordan exclaimed.
Geoffry glanced at his biological daughter and shook his head. "You're a disgrace, Cassandra. Now, you've brought this affair of yours into my home. You've smeared my face in front of the Wright family!"
"Dad, I can explain all this!" Cassandra pleaded with her father, then turned to Charles and whispered, "Why are you here? What are you doing?"
Charles didn't care about Cassandra's question. Instead, he smoothed out his slightly wrinkled shirt collar, approached Geoffry, and extended his hand.
"Sir, you must be my wife's father, Cassandra Miller. I'm Charles Parker, Cassandra's husband."
Geoffry turned to Cassandra and ignored Charles' hand. "You secretly married and betrayed Jordan; you didn't tell me about your marriage either? What do you think I am?"
Cassandra's lips trembled as she tried to say something, but before she could, Geoffry was back to talking fiercely to his biological daughter.
"I don't know what's on your mind. You've always been making trouble in this house. Can't you act cute like Vivian? I really don't understand who my biological daughter is. You or Vivian?" exclaimed Geoffry.
Cassandra looked up, and unconsciously, her eyes began to water. The words were coming back to her. Her father always compared her to Vivian. In Geoffry's eyes, Vivian was better, and Cassandra was just a troublemaker troublemaker.
"Dad, are you asking me that again? Have you forgotten that you witnessed my birth? Why are you always supporting Vivian and blaming me?" asked Cassandra, who could no longer hold back her tears.
"Huh! You expect me to support you? Of course, I can do that as long as I have a bit of Vivian's favor. But in reality, you're just tarnishing the family name!" Geoffry retorted, then he let out a long breath and said. "If I'd known you'd be like this and bring disgrace to the Miller family, then I'd rather throw you away than have to raise a whore like you!"
"Sir, watch your words! Cassandra is my wife, and I will not allow anyone to insult her, even if it is her own family!" Charles exclaimed suddenly.
Cassandra gasped in shock. This was the first time anyone had been willing to defend her before her father. Jordan, her fiancé, had never done this. Instead, he always told Cassandra to do whatever her father asked.
"Huh! You want to be a hero, apparently? If you really want to live with this slut, then just take her away from here. I no longer have a daughter named Cassandra. Right now, my only daughter is Vivian!" Geoffry exclaimed.
"Fine then. She's married to me, and of course, I'll take her away and live with me. One thing you must know! When you come back to ask for her from me, I will not give her up, and I will make sure that all of you here will regret this day!" Charles exclaimed while pointing at the four people in front of him.
Charles immediately grabbed Cassandra's hand and asked her to leave. "We're leaving now!"
"Just go! But remember, Cassandra, don't take anything from this house except the clothes clinging to your body! Everything here comes from me!" Geoffry exclaimed while Megan, Vivian's mother, tried to rub her husband's back and glanced sarcastically at Cassandra.
