Dylan reviewed his stats from the safety of his car in front of the Velvet Viper Club. He stepped out, adjusting his tie, while a small team of professionals followed him.

Behind him were two experts, a forensic IT specialist named Ethan and a private investigator named Julia, each carrying their equipment.

"Remember, stick to the parameters of the subpoena. No unnecessary snooping. We're here for the security footage and any other relevant evidence." Dylan warned, his tone worn out.

The team nodded, and Dylan led the way to the entrance.

The two bouncers standing at the door frowned upon seeing Dylan approached, their expressions as cold as the Chicago winter.

"We have done this before, no one here is happy to see you ... You won't get anything out of this." one of them grunted, blocking the entrance.

Dylan grinned devilishly, his hands shuffling through his briefcase for a short while before pulling out the subpoena.

"We're here under court order to investigate. This time, I have what I need to get what I want." Dylan snarled, his eyes carrying a tinge of madness in them.

The bouncers exchanged uneasy glances but didn't move. Their last mess-up gave them a good scolding; this one may end up costing their job.

"You know, I'm sure the Chicago PD would love to hear about your interference. Should I call them now, or would you prefer to explain yourselves later in court?" Dylan's lips curved into a sharp smile.

Their faces paled in fright, their heads lowered as they reluctantly stepped aside.

The Velvet Viper was messy from remnants of the previous night's chaos. Overturned stools, sticky floors, and the faint scent of spilled alcohol mixed with cigarettes.

The bartender frowned upon seeing Dylan approach with two people flanking his sides.

"Mr. Morningstar, right? I'm not sure what you're hoping to find here, but we've already given our statements to the police," he said, his voice tight and threatening.

"We're here to ensure nothing was overlooked," Dylan replied with a mocking smile on his face, gesturing to Ethan and Julia. "We'll need access to your security room and any staff who were working the night of the incident."

"Must I repeat that the security room's private property? I can't just let anyone poke around." the bartender snapped coldly, a mocking smile blooming on his lips.

However, to his surprise, Dylan's smile was replaced and widened even more. Dylan placed the subpoena on the desk and gently slid it over to him.

"This says otherwise. Now, will you cooperate, or should we escalate this?" Dylan leaned in, his face inches away from the bartender.

{Easy now, 1 point to your strength stat doesn't make you invincible. It only made you average now.} The voice reminded Dylan

The bartender hesitated for a while before reluctantly nodding.

"I'll take you to the manager, then he will lead you to the security room." He said calmly, his vicious eyes fixated on Dylan.

----

The small, cramped room was filled with monitors, cables, and a humming server. Ethan set down his equipment, pulling out a laptop and connecting it to the system.

"Looks like the footage from the night of the incident has been wiped," Ethan muttered, his fingers flying over the keyboard. "But I'll see if I can recover any deleted files."

Dylan nodded and turned to Julia.

"Check the rest of the club. Speak to anyone on staff. See if they noticed anything unusual that night."

Julia nodded and left the security room, leaving Dylan to his thoughts.

A few seconds later, Dylan walked out of the security room and entered the messy bar again. His eyes narrowed as he noticed the purple-haired server, dressed in a leather jacket and skimpy skirt, as she exited the club.

---

Dylan walked out of the club, his eyes darting around in search of the girl.

"Hey, Mr. Suit... Why don't you stay here and chat with us a bit? We got something to tell you." The taller bouncer chuckled as both of them blocked his path, preventing him from passing.

Dylan's eyebrows knitted, his fists clenching as he tried to take another step forward but the bouncers barricaded the way with their hulking bodies.

"Please just go inside and continue your investigation." The short bouncer said, his tone filled with mockery.

Dylan looked in the direction of the club security cameras, frowning as he noticed they were directed away from the club entrance.

"You punks learned from the last incident." Dylan cursed, his vexed expression mixed with a forced smile.

Since the camera couldn't capture what was happening, he couldn't accuse them of interfering with the investigation.

There was simply no evidence.

Dylan nodded repeatedly, accepting his defeat with a smile. He flashed a cold glance at the duo before re-entering the club.

Ethan worked silently for nearly an hour before letting out a triumphant scream.

"Got something! It's not the full footage, but fragments. Someone tried to permanently delete this, but they weren't thorough." he cheered as Dylan ran into the room.

He leaned over Ethan's shoulder. On the screen were blurry snippets from the club's entrance. They showed 20 Shots; Ramon and the cousin were in a heated argument just before stepping outside.

"That's a start," Dylan muttered. "What about the outside cameras?"

"Still working on those," Ethan said, his face serious.

Julia returned moments later, a bitter smile on her face.

"Nothing?" Dylan asked with an expectant look.

"No one's talking. Either they're scared or they've been told to keep quiet." Julia said with a bitter smile.

Dylan frowned, his hands clenched tight while he gritted his teeth. He was certain those bouncers stopped him from approaching the purple-haired girl.

"There is a lady that works here... She has purple hair. Find a way to get me a contact and an address." Dylan said, looking directly into Julia's eyes, causing her to blush.

She smiled sheepishly and ran out of the room, leaving him alone with Ethan.

"For now, let's secure everything you can recover. This could be the break we need," he said and Ethan nodded.
