Clara opened the door, watching Dylan walk into the apartment with a look of indifference.
"I'll help you go upstairs." Clara offered as soon as she shut the door behind her, but what happened next stunned her.
Dylan froze, casually tossed his cane, and turned to meet her shocked gaze.
"That won't be necessary..." Dylan winked at her before heading upstairs.
Clara blinked in confusion, her eyes widening as she realized Dylan only exited the hospital with a cane to garner public sympathy.
He never needed it!
"What the hell are you?" She mumbled under her breath, watching Dylan's oddly muscular frame walking up the stairs.
---
Yes, muscular frame.
With three points to his strength stats, Dylan's lean figure had gained a considerable amount of muscle. Within the safety of his room, he stood in front of the mirror and took off his shirt.
Starting from his bulging chest to his chiseled abs and throbbing triceps, all gave Dylan a sense of achievement, but not in comparison to the messages lined up on the panel.

He was in the hospital when he received 500 experience points for winning the case. Another achievement gained through his victory earned him an extra 200 experience points, pushing him into level 4.
Thankfully, the system still recognized the win as his, even after he was excluded from the case due to his injuries.
Now that Nate's affair and interference in his case have been exposed, his first task from the system has been completed successfully.

"Are the heavens really that scary?" Dylan couldn't help but ask, after going through the warnings.
There were priests on Earth, but there was nothing spectacular about them. Most of them were fraudulent men, using religion as a cover to benefit from their congregation.
Dylan wasn't very religious because he felt the house of God had been tainted.
{Two months ago, you wouldn't have believed the kind of power you possess now exists.} The voice reminded Dylan.
"Fair point." He shrugged while flexing in front of the mirror.
In just a month, he had transformed from an average-looking man to a hot supermodel. Dylan frowned as he noticed his hair had five purple stripes and had grown much longer since he hadn't gotten a haircut in a while.
{In your current condition, your strength can rival that of men in fighting sports. Your speed is just a point away from reaching and making it to the athletics level. All compressed into this little body of yours.}
"Are you trying to say 5 points marks the starting point of exceptional human capabilities?" Dylan asked with a raised eyebrow.
{Yes... 5 points mark the starting point of exceptional human abilities and 10 points make the peak of human capabilities.}
Dylan was taken aback, shocked by how weak humans were. With the next two levels up, he could easily surpass the strongest man alive if he wished to dump all the points into strength stats.
But then again, it made sense. Even the strongest men would get mauled in seconds if they came across a hungry lion unarmed.
Humans were weaker and slower than most animals, making their intelligence their only exceptional trait.
However, this realization made Dylan feel offended. If the human intelligence stat was capped at ten, and he only had two points, doesn't that make him dumb?
{Worry not; a sizable number of humans are no different from dogs, walking around with 0 points. Most humans are dumb, they are just being dragged along by the few smart ones.} The voice added, in response to Dylan's worry.
This only spooked him out more, it felt weird knowing something could see his emotions and thoughts far clearer than himself.
"Human strength lies in their intelligence. Even with all my stats maxed out at ten, a cop with a gun pointed at me can send me off to the afterlife." Dylan quickly ended the topic and walked away from the mirror.
{What steps do you plan to take next?} The voice asked as Dylan walked into the bathroom and turned on the heater.
"20 Shots have been acquitted of murder, but we are yet to pin it on Jamal. I plan to finish the job." Dylan answered honestly, watching the steaming water slowly filling up the bathtub.
"Then there is that bartender... I'll get rid of him as soon as 20 Shots can provide the information I need," Dylan added.
{And Clara?}
Dylan's eyes narrowed, his gaze shifting towards the door.
"She's useful and willing to be of use, so I'll keep her around." He said after a moment of silence.
