The morning sun streamed through the amber canopy, casting intricate patterns on the ground below. The group sat in a circle around Aria, who stood at the center of the clearing, her arms crossed and an air of authority about her. Her Luminara rested beside her, its radiant aura pulsating gently, a visual reminder of the strength they aspired to achieve.

Aria's sharp eyes scanned her students. Kael, with his Flarion and Sylas by his side, sat eager yet contemplative. Dax leaned casually against a rock, exuding confidence, while his Brimscale loomed nearby, basking in the sun. Lyra was calm but attentive, Skycrest perched on her shoulder with its wings neatly folded.

"I've watched you battle, and I've seen your potential," Aria began, her voice steady but stern. "You've grown, but your teamwork and adaptability are lacking. To survive and thrive in this world, you need more than raw strength. You need synergy—with your Beasts, with each other, and with the environment. That's why our training here in Amber Hollow will focus on these aspects."

The group exchanged curious glances, intrigued by what was to come.

Training Objectives

Aria pointed to the vibrant, diverse landscape around them. "Amber Hollow is a perfect training ground. It's not just a forest; it's a living ecosystem teeming with challenges and opportunities. You'll learn to adapt to its terrain, study the habits of wild Beasts, and improve your teamwork."

She turned to Lyra. "For example, Skycrest's strength lies in its agility and control over the skies. But it's vulnerable in confined spaces or against Earth-type Beasts. You'll need to expand your team to cover those weaknesses."

Lyra nodded, understanding the challenge. "I've been thinking about that. Amber Hollow has a lot of unique Beasts—maybe I'll find one that pairs well with Skycrest."

Aria smiled faintly. "We'll see. The right Beast will make itself known."

Understanding Amber Hollow

The group spent the next few hours exploring Amber Hollow under Aria's guidance. She pointed out key features of the environment—dense thickets for cover, rocky outcrops for high ground, and clearings where sunlight created pockets of energy for certain Beasts to thrive.

"Every ecosystem has its balance," Aria explained as they walked through a narrow path lined with glowing moss. "When you understand that balance, you can predict the behavior of the Beasts within it. For example, the Brimscale you faced were displaced from their natural territory by another group of Beasts, likely predators. They became aggressive because their survival was threatened."

Kael frowned, his mind racing with the implications. "So, it wasn't entirely their fault."

"Exactly," Aria said. "But that doesn't mean you can let your guard down. Understanding their motives can help you find a solution—sometimes it's fighting, sometimes it's creating space for coexistence."

Lyra's Search for a New Beast

As they ventured deeper into the forest, Aria paused by a small stream. The water sparkled with a faint golden hue, a sign of its high Aether concentration. Nearby, the group spotted a herd of Verdaflame, Grass/Fire Beasts resembling deer with leafy antlers that glowed faintly with embers.

"They're beautiful," Lyra murmured, watching the herd graze.

Aria nodded. "Verdaflame are peaceful unless threatened. But they won't suit Skycrest. You need something more complementary, perhaps with Earth or Water affinity to balance its Flying/Light nature."

The group pressed on, eventually reaching a shaded glade where a single Beast caught Lyra's eye.

The Encounter with Riptide

Standing near the edge of a bubbling pool was a sleek, quadrupedal Beast with smooth, glossy scales that shimmered in shades of deep blue and silver. Its fin-like tail swayed lazily, and small jets of water sprayed from vents along its body. Its eyes, a piercing aqua, locked onto the group as it crouched defensively.

"That's a Riptide," Aria said, her voice hushed. "A Water/Earth hybrid. They're rare in this region but perfectly suited for Skycrest's weaknesses. Agile in water and powerful on land."

Lyra's breath caught. "It's perfect."

Aria placed a hand on Lyra's shoulder. "Remember, capturing a Beast isn't just about power. You need to prove your worth. Show it that you're a worthy partner."

Lyra nodded, determination lighting her features. She stepped forward, Skycrest flapping beside her.

"Skycrest, Air Veil!"

Skycrest created a shimmering barrier of wind, a display of its agility and control. Riptide responded with a low growl, launching a stream of water toward Skycrest.

"Dodge and use Dive Strike!" Lyra commanded.

Skycrest dodged gracefully, swooping low to strike at Riptide. The Water/Earth Beast countered with a powerful tail swipe, forcing Skycrest to retreat.

Lyra remained calm, analyzing Riptide's movements. "It's testing us," she murmured.

She tried a new approach. "Skycrest, Radiant Burst!"

The burst of light energy illuminated the glade, temporarily blinding Riptide. Skycrest used the opening to circle around and land a calculated strike.

Riptide roared, clearly impressed. Instead of retaliating, it stood still, its aqua eyes watching Lyra with newfound respect.

Lyra took a deep breath and approached, extending her Capture Gear. "I want to fight alongside you, Riptide. Let's grow stronger together."

The Beast tilted its head, considering her words, before nodding slightly. The gear activated, enveloping Riptide in a glow before pulling it inside. A soft chime signaled a successful capture.

Lyra exhaled, relief washing over her. "Welcome to the team, Riptide."

A New Beginning

The group congratulated Lyra as she released Riptide again, introducing it to Skycrest. The two Beasts sized each other up before exchanging a tentative nod.

"They'll be a good pair," Aria said, her approval clear. "Riptide's strength and resilience will balance Skycrest's speed and agility. With proper training, they'll become a formidable duo."

Dax crossed his arms, a teasing smirk on his face. "Not bad, Lyra. But don't think I'll go easy on you in our next battle just because you've got a new teammate."

Kael grinned, his competitive spirit reignited. "Same here. We're all getting stronger, and I won't be left behind."
