Aria's POV
I watched intently as Kaine spoke with Margaret in the infirmary, their voices muffled by the soundproof spell she had cast between them and us. Their agitated gestures and furrowed brows told me everything I needed to know—whatever they were discussing was serious. The rest of us sat scattered around the room, trying to process the events we had just witnessed. The air was heavy with unspoken questions.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Scarlet pushing Mina's wheelchair toward me. Mellie bustled over, potions in hand.
"Here, drink these. You'll be able to gain some strength and walk again by tomorrow evening," she told Mina, who obediently swallowed the concoctions and thanked her. Within moments, color began returning to her pale cheeks.
Scarlet slumped onto the bed beside me, looking utterly drained. Her disheveled appearance made her seem vulnerable in a way I wasn't used to seeing.
