Aria's Pov

I woke up feeling like my head was stuffed with cotton. The potion Mellie gave me after sparring with Helena had dulled the pain, but left me groggy. I groaned and buried my face in my pillow.

"Rise and shine, princess," Davina said dryly. "Another thrilling day of school awaits."

"Ugh, don't remind me," I mumbled.

Reluctantly, I dragged myself out of bed. As I got dressed, my mind wandered to Helena. At first I'd been relieved she didn't seem to hate me like the other finalists. But then I saw her talking with Kaine...

"Stop sulking over that," Davina chided. "You've got bigger things to worry about."

I sighed. She was right, of course. But I couldn't help the twinge of jealousy.

"At least the other finalists are leaving soon," I said, trying to cheer myself up.

"Good riddance," Davina replied.
