I'll Make My Comeback Known

Morana's Point of View

I stared at Davian, my heart racing—not with fear or sadness, but with the thrill of the game. He thought he had me cornered, thought he could pull the rug out from under me and force me into submission.

How adorable.

I took a slow breath, then, without warning, let my entire body tremble. My eyes welled up, and a soft, choked sob escaped my lips as I clutched my chest as if his words had struck me deep.

"Babe," I whispered brokenly, my voice shaking. "You know how much I love you… How can you say that?"

Davian stiffened, his confident smirk faltering for the first time. His dark eyes flickered with uncertainty.

I let the tears spill over, my shoulders shaking as I took a staggering step back.

"Is that how lowly you think of me?" I continued, my voice rising with heartbreak. "Don't you care about my happiness? Don't you know how much I love the runway, how much joy it brings me?"
