Chapter 55

You stand in front of the door to Baji's hospital room. You close your eyes and take a deep breath before placing your hand on the doorknob.

"Yuki?" A voice says from beside you. You slowly open your eyes and turn towards the voice. Chifuyu slowly walks towards you holding a few mangas in his hand.

"Hey." You softly say. Chifuyu smiles at you and stops beside you. You smile back at him.

"Hey. How are you?" He asks. You sigh a bit and look back at the doorknob, letting go of it.

"I'm okay... Kinda tired to be honest... but that's all." You softly reply. He nods and motions towards the door. You grab the doorknob and open the door. The two of you walk into the room to see Baji massaging his legs. Chifuyu stops walking and furrows his eyebrows.

"Hi." You softly say waving at Baji. Baji looks up at you and smiles.

"Hey." He sooths.

"What are you doing?" Chifuyu asks. Baji stares at him a bit and then looks down at his legs.

"I can feel my legs..." Baji says with a smile on his face. You stare at his bronze eyes. 

"You can?" Chifuyu says in a shocked tone. Baji smiles at him and nods.

"I'm massaging them because I heard it helps with the blood flow..." He chuckles. You smile at him and nod.

"So, If you can feel them does that mean you can be able to walk again?" You ask. Chifuyu places the books down beside Baji.

"Yeah." Baji bubbles. "Doc said they will run some more tests and possibly start physical therapy..." 

"Can you move your legs yet?" Chifuyu asks. Baji stares at him a bit and then down at his legs.

"No... not yet. I can feel the pressure in my legs, but they still feel numb..." Baji sighs. Chifuyu furrows his eyebrows and slowly nods. Baji stares at him and relaxes his eyes. "Have you gotten anything yet?" He asks Chifuyu. Chifuyu slowly shakes his head. You look at Chifuyu confused on what Baji was talking about.

"But Valhalla and Toman came together..."

"What do you mean?" Baji rasps.

"Valhalla is a part of Toman..." Chifuyu replies. Baji scrunches his eyebrows and then sighs, relaxing his face.

"The hell is Mikey doing..." Baji listlessly says.

"What are you both talking about?" You ask.

"Toman." Chifuyu replies.

"Mikey is pissing me off... Why would he make the enemy part of Toman...? What the hell is he even trying to accomplish by doing that?" Baji sighs loudly. You stare down at the ground and furrow your eyebrows feeling very lost in the moment. "Yuki. Do you still talk to Mikey?" Baji asks. You look up at him and tilt your head to the side a bit.

"No." You say slowly shaking your head.

"... Draken mentioned something about you to me." Chifuyu softly says looking at you.

"What do you mean?" You ask.

"He said you and Mikey argued... and that he wanted to talk to you... but you're never at school or at home." Chifuyu replies.

"Oh."

"Why did you and Mikey argue?" Baji asks. You look away and sigh.

"Mikey did something that I don't agree with." You softly say. Baji stares at you a bit before taking a deep breath.

"What happened to your face?" Chifuyu asks as he leans closer to you and softly rubs the bandage on your face.

"I got cut."

"By who?" Baji huffs. You look at Baji and then back at Chifuyu. 

"I- don't know how to explain that... But I have to go. I will talk to you both later." You say, quickly walking out the room. Chifuyu and Baji both watch you walk out the room. Chifuyu slowly looks at Baji who's still staring at the direction of the door.

"Does she know about how Kazutora died?" Baji asks.

"I don't know... she never mentioned Kazutora's death to me. She had asked but I didn't give her an answer." Chifuyu replies. Baji slowly nods and continues to massage his leg. "Do you know how he died? You were unconscious when it happened." Chifuyu asks.

"He had a knife lunged into his throat... right?" Baji asks.

"Yeah... something like that." Chifuyu softly says. Baji slowly nods and stops massaging his leg. He clenches his fist and rests his hand on his leg.

"I don't think Mikey killed Kazutora on purpose. Doesn't seem like something he would do... And he wouldn't use a weapon to kill anyone either..." Baji sighs. "I'm sure someone told Yuki about it." Baji adds. Chifuyu slowly nods.

"I agree..." 

"Do me a favor... and figure out who." Baji motions. Chifuyu nods and walks out the room. Baji furrows his eyebrows and picks up his phone from off the end table by the bed. He presses a few buttons on his phone and holds the phone up to his ear.

"Yo. Draken. What happened between Yuki and Mikey?" Baji says into the phone. "Eh? I figured... I didn't tell her anything, and Chifuyu hasn't told her anything... I have an Idea of who told her though." Baji's eyes relax and he smiles a bit. "Yeah. That's what I believe too... She just left the hospital a bit ago by the way..."

You slowly walk down the sidewalk a few blocks away from the hospital thinking about many things. Your head is starting to hurt from all the things swirling in your mind. You cross your arms trying to relax your mind. Maybe I should go visit Eli... see how he's doing. You think to yourself.

VVVVRRRROOOOM...

The sound of a motorcycle gets closer. You flinch when the engine roars behind you. You slowly turn your head to the noise to see Draken slow down beside you on the road. You furrow your eyebrows confused to how he knew it was you since you're wearing a hoodie. You turn your head away and continue walking.

"Oi... Yuki." Draken says, stopping beside you and resting his foot on the ground. You sigh and turn towards him.

"Yeah?" You listlessly say. Draken furrows his eyebrows and sighs a bit. 

"Come on... get on."

"Why?" You ask.

"There's something I need help with." He replies. You squint your eyes at him and scrunch your nose.

"Why don't you ask someone else for help?"

"Cause you're a girl and I need a girl to help me with this." He sighs. You stare at him a bit and then sigh. 

"Okay." You slowly say, getting on his bike. He lifts his foot up and pulls off. You hold onto him as he drives down the street. You furrow your eyebrows questioning why you chose to help him. Regretting getting on the bike. After driving a bit Draken stops by a store. He stops his bike and locks it up. You stand by him and stare at people walking in and out of the store. Draken places his hand on your shoulder, patting it a bit. 

"Come on, let's go." He says gently pushing you forward. The two of you walk into the store and he walks towards the back of the store. You follow behind him. He walks down an aisle that has stuffed animals and other stuff. You furrow your eyebrows a bit as you watch him look through the stuff. "Ugh... they don't have it here..." He sighs.

"What are you looking for?" You ask.

"This plushy Emma likes... We saw it at the arcade the other day. I wanted to get it, but someone gotten it already." He huffs.

"What did it look like?" You ask.

"It was a pink bear... with purplish eyes." He stands up straight and rubs the back of his neck. "Mitsuya said the store might have it but it's not here... I checked others but they didn't have it either." He sighs and looks at you. "I need you to help me look for something she might like."

"Just get her something you think she would like. It's a gift from you right?" You say. Draken glares at you and then picks up a stuffed animal and examines it.

"I'm asking for your help." He huffs. "Aren't you and Emma friends?" He asks. You furrow your eyebrows and slowly nod. "So, help me." He says in a low tone. 

"Why are you getting her a gift?" You ask. He places the plush back down and looks back at you. 

"Her birthday is in a couple of weeks... I wanted to get her something for her birthday..." He replies.

"Awww." You coo with a smile on your face. Draken furrows his eyebrows and looks away.

"Don't be like that-" 

"So cute~" You tease.

"..." He slowly walks down the aisle and continues looking at different plushies. 

"Why don't you try going to arcades to see if others may have it..." You imply. Draken stops walking and looks at you. He stares at you a bit before smiling and nodding. 

"Good idea Yuki! You're so smart!" He says patting your head. "Let's go to the arcade." He says grabbing your arm and pulling you with him.

The two of you arrive at an arcade. The two of you stare at the window of the arcade, staring at a crane machine in the arcade that has the exact stuffed bear that Draken was looking for.

"Is that it?" You ask. Draken sighs and steps away from the window.

"Yeah... but it's in the crane machine... I'm not good at that shit-" He sighs. You tilt your head a bit and then look back at the window.

"You want to get it for her... right?" You say.

"Mhm." He hums.

"Then you have no choice." You bubble, smiling at him. He looks at you with a blank expression on his face.

He places another coin into the slot and presses the button, making the crane move. The crane drops down and grabs the pink bear. He clenches his fist as the crane carries the bear to the shoot but then drops the bear inches before it. Draken sighs and tilts his head forward. 

"Fuck-" He sighs. You furrow your eyebrows and slowly look at Draken who has an irritated look on his face. This is the fifteenth time he lost. He pulls another coin out and puts it into the machine. The crane moves again. He presses the button and the crane lowers, pushing the bear a bit but not picking it up. He frowns and huffs loudly. 

"Do you need help?" You ask. Draken slowly looks at you and then back at the machine. 

"No... I've got it..." He huffs. He puts another coin in and presses the button. The crane moves again and goes down to grab the bear. It picks up the bear but drops it when it tries to lift it up. He clenches his hand and sighs, drooping his head down. You tilt your head a bit causing him to look up at you.

"You sure?" You ask. He stands up straight and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out another coin and puts it back into the slot. The crane moves and he attempts to pick up the bear again but fails. He lets go of the machine and takes a few steps back, staring at the bear through the glass.

"I want to break the glass and just take the shit..." He sighs.

"Mmm- wouldn't it be cooler if you just win it?" You reply. Draken slowly looks at you with a blank expression on his face.

"You mocking me?" He huffs.

"No? It's not my fault you suck at the game." You softly say. He squints his eyes at you.

"Eh? You think you can do better?" He asks.

"Yeah... I can." You bubble. He digs his hand into his pocket and pulls out another coin.

"Then go ahead butter cup... get the bear then." He seethes, smiling at you as he grabs your hand and places the coin in your hand. He steps aside letting you take a turn. You put the coin into the machine and press the button. The crane goes down and picks up the bear, picking it up and then dropping it back down. You slowly look at Draken who's smiling at you.

"Oh! Wow! Look at that... the bear didn't move!" He says with a mocking smile on his face. You furrow your eyebrows at him and look back at the machine.

"Shush..." You sigh.

"Move. Let me try again." He says motioning you to the side. He puts the coin in and presses the button again, moving the crane again. The crane goes down and touches the bear again but not picking it up. "WHAT! Come on... the shit didn't even close this time!" Draken fumes.

"Pft." You lean your face in your hand as you look away.

"You think this shit is funny!? That was the last coin..." he sighs. "You got any change on you? I'll pay you back." He asks with his hand out. You look at him and reach into your pocket, pulling a couple of coins out and a gum wrapper, placing it in his hand. He stares at his hand and looks back at you. "200 yen... and a gum wrapper? What is this? A paper clip?" You look at his hand and then back at him. 

"Heheh..." You awkwardly laugh and scratch the back of your head. He places the stuff back in your hand and walks away into the distance. You watch him as he goes to buy more coins. You stare at the bear thinking about Eli's baby sister. Draken walks back with more coins and continues trying to get the bear.
