THE CASE

The next morning, hyun woo arrived at Choi mansion with a taxi, as he walked inside he had to go through a strict security Check before being let in to the mansion. Then he was led in by a maid in uniform.

Walking through the grand hallways of the towering building, Hyun Woo couldn't help but stare in awe. The sheer luxury of the mansion was overwhelming—every detail exuded pure wealth. It felt as though the Choi family was already living in the future, with the mansion's advanced architecture and cutting-edge technology and the interior design making it seem almost unreal.

The maid led him into a room, the room was very spacious, but would be considered the smallest when compared to the other rooms in the mansion, inside was almost empty, it only had few elegant seats and a small fancy table in the middle, Even the few decorations present looked impossibly expensive.

As he sat on one of the seats, just looking around, taking in the surrounding, suddenly the door opened and Minjae walked in, her steps delicate and gracefully, the milky silk gown she wore compliment her angelic beauty, making her look almost ethereal, she had a kind of angelic innocent face that contradict her Personality, for a moment of staring at her, Hyun woo could swear that what ever the media says about her is all a lie, as she looked flawless and innocent.

But then he met her gaze

something about her eyes, the undying rage, the unwavering confidence__maybe her face is just a mask, like a wolf disguised as a lamb

She sat on the seat facing him, "Mr Ji Hyun woo?" she confirmed

"Yes thats me" He replied

Just then a maid walked in with two fancy designer mug of hot tea, she gently dropped it on the table in front of them and walked off, not wasting time Hyun woo grabed the mug in front of him and siped as the weather was cold.

"I believe your boss must have briefed you about the Investigation?" she said staring at him straight in the eyes, her sharp eyes radiating an intimidating presence which could be hard to look at, but Hyun woo was quite a confident man that does not easily fear anyone, therefore he was not intimidated__maybe a little

"Yes he did" He said "Although i would ask, do you have any Evidence to support your suspicion about the Investigation, or is it just a hunch...." she cuts him off

"Its not a hunch, its a fact" she said "Fact that your so called dectative colleagues, couldn't uncover and Simply concluded it to be just an accident" she added with spite in her voice

"Miss," He sighted "I'm sorry that you are not satisfied with the official conclusion of the Investigation, but, these colleague you are talking about, are professionals, i understand letting go of the case like that can be hard but...." she cuts him off again

"Are you saying you wont take up the job, Since the very professionals have already gone through it and found nothing?" she asked

"No, i meant...." she cuts him off again

"I Heard you are losing cases Mr Hyun woo" she said as he paused, his grip on the mug tightened slightly.

"I heard youve lost your shine" she added

The word struck him harder than he expected. She was hitting an old wound—one he thought had already healed. But she wasn't finished.

"Tell me, why do you think i choose a no body like you?"

"Are'nt you looking for a Big case so you can take back your glory?" she asked watching as her words were having effect on him. Hyun Woo exhaled, composing himself before meeting her gaze with renewed confidence.

"Even thou i take on the case" He began "what if i meet a dead end?" he asked "wont that put me back on the spot light? But in a negetive way?" He asked

He leaned forward slightly. "If top professionals have already investigated and found nothing, then logically, I'm likely to reach the same conclusion. But since you seem so certain otherwise, why not share your reasons? Give me something to start with."

Minjae tilted her head slightly. "What makes you think you can start at all?" she mused. "I never said you were hired. Don't get ahead of yourself."

Hyun Woo blinked, confused.

"Here's the deal," she continued, leaning back against her seat. "If you want the job, prove to me that you're capable. Find out why I want this case reopened. Get me proof. And figure out why I chose you specifically."

She met his eyes with an unreadable expression.

"You have 24 hours."

"And if I don't meet your expectations?" he asked.

Minjae gave him a slow, knowing smile.

"I'll let you go," she said simply. Then, after a pause, she added, "And trust me, you don't want to experience what it means to be let go by me. There's more to it than you think."

Hyun Woo swallowed hard.

Hyun woo had just walked out of the mansion, he glanced back at the Big structure one more time then, then turned back and began walking, His mind was deep in taught replaying the conversation over and over, suddenly he heard a car honk at him, just then he notice he was absentmindedly walking in the middle of the road, he just bowed in Apology To the driver and then moved from the way and continued his journey,

But then the car honked again

"Hyung!"

Hyun woo turned to see lee yeon pulling up beside him, grinning like a child, He just gave off a knowing smile, as he know exactly why lee yeon was here, then he slide into the car

"Dont tell me you planned on treking all the way back to the office" lee yeon asked as Hyun woo smirked

"And i suppose this is your smart excuse as to why you are here" Hyun woo replied as lee yeon smile more

"Tell me, what is she like in real life?" he asked excitedly "she is the oppostie of what the media potrayed her to be right...."

"she is just like the media potrays her" He said as lee yeon smile faded away immediately, he continued "I only just met her, but i can tell she has an attitude" He said "A serious one" He added,

Lee yeon smile faded immediately, he paused in silence for a moment then he shurgged

"Well what do you expect from a wealthy heiress, At least she is rich enough to afford a serious attitude" He said

Hyun woo shit him a look of dis belief, before shaking his head

"So, about the Investigation?" lee yeon asked

"we start now" hyun woo said

"What about the lead, did she give you any?" he asked

"Oh, that's the Investigation im talking about, we have to find the lead in order to proof worthy of the job, and we have only 24 hours for that"

Lee Yeon blinked. "Wait—what?"

Hyun Woo ignored his confusion. "First step, we need to find anything unusual about the car crash." He turned to Lee Yeon. "Any ideas where to start?"

he asked as lee yeon taught for a moment

"lets Check cctv footage of where the car was on that day" He suggested

"And what exactly do you expect to find out from there? How to driver a fancy car?" Hyun woo mocked as lee yeon taught again for a moment, not sure what his senior colleague wants him to say

"How about the crash site, we could visit the scene" He suggested again

"The accident happened over a month ago. You really think we'll find anything useful on a road used by thousands of cars every day?" Hyun Woo sighed. "Think deeper, Yeon, think this through, we have to see it on a closer range, More.... Inside..."

Lee yeon eyes lit up "The car" He said "we should visit the mechanic where the car is at" He added as hyun woo nodded

"Yes, the mechanic shop" He said "But the problem now is to find which machanic factory exactly is the car at" He said

"Thats simple, we can just ask the dectative that did the previous Investigation"

Hyun woo shot him a pointed look

"Should i as well remind you again that we are conducting a secret Investigation" said Hyun woo as he rolled his eyes "Now i get why boss had to stick you with me as a purnishment" He muttered

"Ouch" Lee yeon said feighing pain in the chest, "so whats your great plan senior Hyun woo?" he asked

"We will have to Check the record book, in order to find the mechanic shop, but no one has to know its about the Choi" Hyun woo said as lee yeon just nodded in understanding.

Lee Yeon nodded in understanding. "Alright, got it."

Hyun Woo exhaled, staring out the window.

The clock was ticking.
