[Song recommended__HIGH SCHOOL LOVE ON SAD PIANO]
Minjae has just gotten back home, she held her heels with her hand walking bare foot, she looked quite tipsy, her hair a little unkept, her skin tight dress rumpled at the hem of the dress. As she got into the mansion, two maids collected the shoes from her as well as the purse hanging on her shoulder.
She stood for a moment staring at the house, as if admiring the interior design of the house for the first time, after a brief pause, she procceded her journey, walking through the halls way.
She tried to make her step as quiet as possible but the silence of the house made it almost impossible to do so,
She failed as she heard a soft voice called from behind
"Minjae ah", it was a familiar voice, a voice that she longed so bad. Her breath hitched 'how is it possible that i'm hearing this voice?' she taught
"Minjae ah" the voice called again as her eyes widened, as thou she just confirmed what she dared not to believe..
Slowly she turned and there standing at the Bright lit hallway was her mother, she gazed at her mother Who wore a kitchen apron, with gloves, holding a Big spoon and a knife, her gaze went back to her face as she just stared quietly, it was her, it was truly her.
"Minjae you are back?" her mother said with a warm smile
Minjae lips slightly parted but didnt say a word, just quietly staring,
"Come and taste my food" her mother continued stepping closer
"I'm making dinner today, its been long Since i did so im quite nervous..." she paused as she sniffed the air around Minjae
"Aigoo" she exclaimed "you reek"
She waved a hand dramatically before nudging Minjae playfully. "Go change and freshen up, then come out for dinner."
Minjae didn't respond, just continued to stare. And then, without warning, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around her mother.
"Mom…" she whispered, burying her face in her mother's shoulder. "I missed you."
even thou she was not sure about her late mothers presence here, she felt like it was a chance to tell her,
Her mother chuckled softly, running a gentle hand over Minjae's hair.
"whats wrong my child, im right here" she said then pulled from the hug as she gazed at Minjaes dewy eyes for a moment with a warm smile
"Go now, go wash up and come out for dinner" she said softly as she then turned back and went inside the kitchen, while Minjae slowly turned back with a faint smile on her face as she kept walking.
As she walked past the family Libery she suddenly stoped on her track at the sound of some familiar voices, she walked back and looked through the slight opening of the door, in it was her father and Minsol sitting and discussing.
".... I believe the new project would be a great hit" Minsol said
"what makes you think so?" Mr Choi asked
"Well, first, look at the planners and the management team. Plus, even Minjae contributed ideas to the project," Minsol replied confidently.
"She did?" Mr Choi raised his brow intruiged.
while they talked Minjae eyes got more teary watching them. She hadn't realized her hand was pressed against the door until it creaked open slightly.
Her father's gaze shifted toward her, and she froze.
Minsol turned as well, both of them now looking at her with warm smiles.
"Come in my child" He said softly gazing at Minjae with a smile, after some hesistation, Minjae finally opened the door widely and slowly walked in.
As she walked in her father gently taped the seat beside him as she went there and quietly sat beside him
"Your sister said you took part in the companys latest project planning" Mr Choi said
"I...did?" Minjae mumbled, still in disbelife of the scene in front of her,
Her father let out a proud laugh. "I knew you had it in you," he said, his voice filled with admiration.
Minsol smiled at her proudly.
They continued talking, laughing, but Minjae only sat there, taking it all in—savoring the moment
If only she could take back time
If only this moment could last forever,
just then her mother walked in
"Dinner is ready" she said with a wide smile
Minsol and their father stood up, making their way toward her. Minjae tried to stand as well, but—
She couldn't move.
Her body felt weighed down, glued to the chair.
"Come on, Minjae-ah," her mother called again, smiling brightly as she gestured for her to follow.
"Let's go, Minjae," her father encouraged.
Minjae tried to move, but her legs refused to listen.
She struggled.
She tried to call out to them.
"Take me with you!" she cried desperately, her voice shaking as she fought against the invisible force holding her down. she struggle to stand up while her family were already gone
"Mum, dad, unni" she called while sobbing as they all left
"I'm sorry" Minjae cried "I'm sorry__"
Just then
Minsol walked in, as she stood at the door step and rested her body on the walls, she had a smile on her face
"Mum said i should come get you" she said "When you are ready" she added.
Minjae gasped, eyes snapping open.
She was back.
The dream was gone.
Her breaths came in shaky gasps as she slowly sat up in bed. Raising a trembling hand to her cheek, she realized it was wet.
Tears.
She had been crying.
And as reality sank in, a hollow ache settled deep in her chest.
It had only been a dream.
The saddest dream.
