Hades walked towards a stack of maps and picked two maps, be placed them on the table and smoothed out the delicate parchment across the table.
Aurelia stood at his side, watching as he scanned both maps his fingers traced the old roads, the winding rivers that had long since changed course.
Then, his hand stilled.
"Ephyrae," he murmured, tapping a location on the ancient map.
Aurelia leaned closer, following his gaze. In the past, it had been a grand city…. if the elaborate detailing around its borders meant anything. But when she shifted her attention to the modern map, her brows furrowed.
The city was gone.
Or rather, it was no longer called Ephyrae.
"It's not a city anymore," Aurelia said slowly. "It's an amusement park."
Hades' expression darkened. His fingers tapped against the table, a slow, thoughtful rhythm.
