"It must have been hard on you trying to do all kinds of things so you can get enough money to take care of your parents in the future. But Yasuo, bullying is never a solution to such things; I now have the ability to resolve this, but if you do such bad things in the future, I truly can't help much; if you need anything from now on, just ask me directly." The director comforted, instructing him gently as he patted his back.
He didn't find Yasuo's reaction weird in the slightest; although he acted like an unruly young man in school, bullying his classmates and even extorting them out of money, he was still just a kid.
Director Richard was sure that if not for his Life's state and his parents' conditions, Yasuo would never have used such methods and gone on that quick path to distraction.
"Ye...Yes, I understand," Rolling his eyes inwardly, Yasuo continued as he retracted his hands from Richard and sat next to him," I just don't know how I can ever repay such a favor."
He still didn't forget his first question as he asked once again, quite curious about the answer the old man would give.
"Silly kid," Richard laughed in amusement," Your father and I have been friends for fifty years; what repayment do you want to give me? I have only done this because you are my best friend's son."
Without giving Yasuo a chance to answer, Richard stood and said," Let's go now. Your parents have been worried about you for two days, and you must see them."
"Thank you, director. Thank you so much." Yasuo wiped the tears off his face as he followed Richard, his house was located in a very old and destroyed one-story house on the outskirts of the city so it would take some time to reach it from the center of the city.
"Host acting skills aren't so bad, but isn't host worried about his life? Casually following this old man despite what you know and what I mentioned?" The system couldn't help but ask, curious as to what her master was thinking.
It wasn't omniscient and didn't know what her master was thinking or feeling inside of his him, the only way it knows was by its host thinking about it, or else it would always stay in the dark.
'Worried about my life you say system? Everything was under control since the first moment,' Yasuo sput nonsense and decided to ignore the system after that brief answer.
It was true that he knew his life was safe at first and that he was somewhat valuable, but if not for the system's remark about a scheme against him, Yasuo would have honestly just deemed it as a casual plan to win over him for future interests.
Who, as a reicarnator born into a poor family would think that his worth was more than he showed on the outside?
Yes!
None!
However, things changed now, and Yasuo, after the system's reminder and Richard's visit to the hotel, already knew what all of this was about.
As for why he lying to his system?
Yasuo needed to act so that he got everything under control no matter what since doing so could potentially prove beneficial in the long run, as the system would be more generous in rewards or giving him free information.
Yasuo then followed Richard out of the hotel, and the moment they stepped out of the elevator, the old man quickened his pace, and they went through the reception area as quickly as possible.
He also noticed several men wearing high-quality suits and uniforms following his movements; although they tried their best to make it seem natural, it still didn't escape his senses.
When they reached the street, a black limousine was parked at the door, and a chauffeur was waiting for them, holding the door open.
Yasuo climbed into the car behind Richard, and they were off. For a time, they just sat in silence. Yasuo, who had already drawn a plan in his mind, was thinking about how he could somehow get into the auction with the aid of Richard.
A lot of it depended on how he acted and how well he used his only card, but some of it depended on the old man's morals!
"Director… I want to tell you something." Yasuo said, sounding reluctant, his face displaying a concerned look.
When the old man turned his head to look at the young man and saw his expression, his heart was moved,' Sigh... to see my friend's son in such a state and having to go through such emotions at this young age. If just that man didn't show up.' Richard clenched his fists tightly under his clothes, recalling a distant memory.
"You are safe with me Yasuo; just say whatever is on your mind." He replied warmly.
"You have protected me and my family during these two days, and I'm truly grateful for that and feel that I can trust my father's friend," Yasuo said, his face now displaying a helpless look as his fists were open; he felt like he gave up about life.
After pausing for a moment, he continued, "During these two days, I have realized how weak I truly am and how helpless I am in front of rich people and cultivators, and I have decided to buy a high-grade cultivation technique for that."
"Don't tell me..." The old man trailed off before he continued, unsure of what to say so his following words didn't hurt the kid's dream," Are you planning on buying a cultivation technique with the money you extorted? That won't be enough... why not let me buy you one? Consider it a gift from your future master."
'Doing this much is nothing in order to obtain that, and given his terrifying talent, that would be like hitting two birds with one stone,' Richard was joyous inwardly, feeling that he had just hit the jackpot.
'Huuh? Instantly jumping into becoming my master?' Yasuo was lost for a moment.
Yasuo suddenly felt that things were too easy.
Is this the benefit of being a kid?
