Auction

Two days later.

That night, everything went smoothly for Yasuo. He returned home, reassured his worried parents, and retrieved the money he had secretly stashed under his bed over the years. After collecting it all into his backpack, he prepared to leave once again.

Alas, leaving was a bit hard since they kept asking various questions like the draft and his mental state, but Richard butted in and explained that Yasuo, since he received the highest talent, would be exempt from the draft.

Indeed, the second way of not getting drafted other than being a mortal was having the highest talent!

After that, Richard spent hours talking to Yasuo's father about their old days at school.

He told them that he would now take care of Yasuo's journey as his master and that they shouldn't worry about him. His parents didn't raise any complaints but were rather grateful.

The old man seized the opportunity to relocate them to one of his houses in New York City, covering all their expenses.

As for Yasuo, he felt nothing from his parents to make them unique to any other mortal on earth and finally understood what was happening.

It was all his grandfather!

If Yasuo deduced right, his grandfather was a bone-fide influential person who stumbled upon a treasure and got the interest of certain people, which led to his downfall, but said people didn't make any move against his family and merely awaited the treasure to pop out which was a smart move so they do not lose it.

Alas, since then, it hadn't appeared, prompting these individuals to take things a step further. They approached the family, hoping either the father or the son might know its whereabouts.

Their suspicions turned out to be true—the son not only knew where it was but had it on him all along!

"It's time!" Yasuo stood up and left the hotel as soon as he received a call from the old man, informing him that the car was waiting outside.

In the black market's underground auction house—an infamous venue for cultivators across America that typically hosted thousands- only fifty people occupied the ordinary seats at the front.

None dared to glance toward the VIP lounges above for fear that they might take the attention of the people sitting there.

One should take note that the fifty people who sat at the front were by no means trivial characters; one could even notice influential people famous throughout America and various countries on Earth.

Usually, these people are respected and feared in casual auctions, and none would dare take their seats in the VIP lounge. Yet, they obediently sat on the commoner's seats, not showing any signs of displeasure with the host.

Unfortunately, the head of the Sun family and his son were among those people. Despite their deep heritage and affiliation with the Donkin family, they still didn't qualify for the VIP seats this time around.

"Tsk, one day I'll be among those people," Sunny clicked his tongue in annoyance, clearly unsatisfied with his current chair and position in this auction.

Slap!

Seeing this scene, his father didn't take a moment before slapping him a bit softly on the back of his head. "Idiot, keep your voice down. Are you trying to get us killed?" His father looked around him nervously, fearful that someone high had heard his son.

"Father, but..." Before Sunny could even retort, his father slapped him again.

"Shut up now; if you show any more signs of displeasure, I'll cut all your resources to half for the next year."

The moment his father spoke, Sunny shrank back, pulling his neck in and not daring to say another word as his eyes swept across the auction venue.

Though the venue's decor was simple and modest, it was sufficient. Everything necessary was in place, leaving no room for complaint.

Many people had already arrived.

Sitting at one of the VIP seats was a handsome young man with red hair and eyes. His clothes were very simple and he looked no different from an ordinary person, there was also a kind and amiable look on his face.

If not for the VIP badge he carried, which he displayed upon arriving at the front of the auction venue, the guards outside might have mistaken him for an ordinary passerby.

'Richard had told me the treasure is gonna be sold here, I wonder what price would be it set on? A trillion spiritual stones maybe?' The young man couldn't help but have such speculations.

He was ready for any unforeseen events, and he was armed with an astronomical sum of spiritual stones. To make matters even more secure, four guardians were sent after him from his homeworld to secure the treasure in case any war erupted!

He was a scout sent here by the elders of his family from another world with a tool to search for a certain treasure that had been lost from their treasury dozens of years back. If not for the device his elders gave him, Luke would have never harbored the thought that his family's treasure would be in this low-developed world.

In another area of VIP lounges were a few middle-aged men in their forties. They wore robes made of animal skin. Although it was unsure what beasts they were exactly, the material looked very good. The accessories on their bodies were also not something an ordinary person could afford.

Their eyes were bright. At the same time, they emitted a murderous aura. At a glance, one could tell they spill blood to earn a living.

Richard introduced as he felt that Yasuo interest got piqued by these middle-aged men that didn't bother to hide their auras," Those are the four pillar of the human's organization, also known as the four calamity brother's. They are here to secure the 5th ranked martial arts being sold as the main item today."

Yasuo nodded hearing his words.

He then pointed at the other VIP lounges to show Yasuo something," Look at the other lounges, empty, aren't they? Its because none dares to compete against the human organization on earth, and since they officially stated their desire to obtain the martial arts, all the families wether mid class or first class were seated on the commoners seats."

'Seems like the human organization is in control of everything, interesting,' Yasuo chuckled inwardly, wondering if they were the ones behind Richard.
