Seeing this, Silver Moon put away her wine cup. She knew that with the upcoming attack, Ryan had no chance of surviving. Straightening her posture, she narrowed her eyes and muttered, "This is the decisive moment."
Although Ryan held Silver Moon's weapon, he was unable to fully utilize its power. The demon beast had been caught off guard when Ryan injured it earlier.
The demon beast, now fully prepared, launched another attack. Its tail struck the ground with immense force, while one of its claws reached for Ryan's dagger, and the other aimed directly for his head—clearly intending to crush his skull.
Ryan managed to block one claw with his dagger, but he couldn't avoid the other. A massive black claw was bearing down on him.
At the exact moment Ryan was facing certain death, a beautiful woman in a distant room—refined and elegant—suddenly felt a pang in her chest. Her heart clenched as she thought, This isn't good.
She closed her eyes, attuning herself to a faint connection. When she opened her eyes, her face turned cold with fury, and a frosty expression overtook her features. With a few strange hand signs, she muttered, "How dare you try to harm my son's life? You overestimate yourself. I'll deal with you first."
She then shouted softly, "Die!"
After speaking, she let out a deep sigh of relief, her gaze turning distant, and her eyes grew moist. Tears began to fall. "My child... sigh..." Her face looked pale, and she seemed somewhat weakened, as though she had expended a great deal of energy.
As she formed the hand signs, Ryan's pendant suddenly glowed brightly. A blood-red beam of light shot out from it, speeding like teleportation and piercing the demon beast's head. The creature's claws froze just inches away from Ryan's face.
The beast did not even let out a cry of pain before its massive body collapsed to the ground.
Silver Moon's lips curled into a subtle smile. "Ah, this is more like it. You didn't disappoint me after all."
Ryan was stunned by the sudden turn of events. He looked towards Silver Moon, thinking that she had helped him in the end.
He was about to say something, but Silver Moon waved her hand dismissively, interrupting him. "Don't look at me like that. I did nothing. This was all your fate. Anyway, now that you've got what you came for, do you plan to stay here overnight?"
Ryan, seeing the tranquility return to the surroundings, didn't bother to argue. He gripped the dagger and the Water Spirit Crystal, and was about to leave when Silver Moon stopped him.
"Hey, are you out of your mind? You're just going to leave an eighth-tier demon beast behind?" she asked incredulously.
Ryan understood the demon beast was valuable, but facing such a huge creature, he could only sigh. He responded bitterly, "Do you think I can carry it out of here?"
Silver Moon, stunned by Ryan's words, sighed and placed her palm on her forehead. "Even if you don't want the demon energy, are you really going to leave that behind?"
The "demon energy" was the core power of a demon beast, typically located in its chest. Though it was no bigger than an olive pit, it contained all the beast's power and was an essential material for forging weapons or creating potions.
After the battle, Ryan had been too overwhelmed to think about this. If Silver Moon hadn't reminded him, he might have missed out on such a valuable treasure. The demon energy from an eighth-tier beast could cause a storm of bloodshed.
"Right." Ryan nodded, looking at the demon beast's body. He raised his dagger to strike at the demon's chest.
But before he could do so, Silver Moon waved her sleeve, and the dagger disappeared from his hand, appearing in her own.
"Hey, kid," she scolded with a wry smile. "I lent you my weapon to save your life, and you're using it like a butcher's knife? You've got some nerve. If it weren't for you, this worm wouldn't even be worthy of seeing my weapon, even if it reached the tenth tier."
"What do you expect me to do? I don't have anything else useful. Just lend me this one," Ryan pleaded.
Silver Moon gave him an amused glance. "Not a chance. But I do have a way for you to take this big guy with you. And leaving the demon energy inside it is actually more valuable than extracting it."
With a simple gesture, Silver Moon pointed at the Water Spirit Crystal in Ryan's hand. The crystal transformed into a beam of blue light and vanished into the pendant.
Ryan stood there in stunned silence. "This pendant... how can it hold so many things?"
Silver Moon smiled lightly. "You still have so much to learn. This pendant is no ordinary trinket. It's a spatial artifact. Anything can be stored inside it."
"Wait, are you saying it's like a spatial ring?" Ryan asked, his voice filled with excitement.
"Spatial ring? Ha! Don't compare it to that. Have you ever seen a spatial ring store a living creature?" Silver Moon retorted.
"Living creatures? When has this pendant stored one?" Ryan asked, his confusion mounting.
Silver Moon answered him with one word: "Roll."
Then it hit him—Silver Moon had been living in the pendant all along! Realization dawned, and he burst into laughter. "Hahaha!"
Silver Moon, red-faced with anger, waved her hand, and Ryan was sent flying into the pond with a loud splash.
Ryan struggled to climb back onto the shore, realizing it was best not to provoke this fiery woman again. He quietly stood at the side, not daring to say another word.
