A NEST IN BAY SHIFTER PACK

{"Things don't turn up in this world until somebody turns them up"}

Freyr stiffened beside me, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. I could feel his rage, simmering beneath the surface, barely contained. Gale bristled at the sight before us, the massive nest hanging from the jagged ceiling of the cave, pulsing as though it were alive. The bloodstone bugs inside writhed and crawled over one another, their translucent shells glistening with crimson streaks.

"By the moon goddess" I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper.

Freyr exhaled sharply, nostrils flaring. "This isn't just a smuggling operation," he said through gritted teeth. "This is a breeding ground and I wonder how long it has been here. The border guards, the commanders and the generals, how did they not notice this nest?"
