{"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one"}
"Wait."
Elder Dante's words stopped me in my tracks. I turned to him, irritation flashing in my eyes, but his serious expression made me pause.
"We need to get rid of the scent of Blood Stone Mountain first," he explained.
The thought hadn't even crossed my mind, but he was right. If we walked into the Coven Council reeking of that cursed place, it would raise unnecessary suspicion.
Then, I remembered the incense Ma had once burned to mask scents. Without another word, I beckoned Dante to follow me to the library. The rich aroma of the incense filled the room as I set it alight, letting the smoke cleanse the lingering stench from our skin.
After ensuring the scent was masked, I changed into fresh clothes, feeling slightly more at ease. When I stepped out, I was surprised to find that Elder Dante had done the same.
