Ashes of divinity: The angel and the rogue

In an alternate historical fiction where the Crusades never ended, the heavenly hosts dispatch Lyriel, a curious and uniquely human-like angel, to track down a rogue saint. On her journey, Lyriel discovers that humanity has fallen far from grace. The Inquisition, formed in God's name, hunts alleged witches and devil worshipers with relentless zeal.



Amid this chaos, Lyriel encounters a mercenary named Karl and hires him as her bodyguard. Together, they scour Christendom in search of the saint before the true enemy of humanity—the devil and his demons—can find him first. Their goal? To prevent the unleashing of Apocrypha, the final end of the world.
