Chapter 2

After Aria and I selected our mates, we gathered before the White Tiger Tribe's beastmen to officially establish our bonds.

In this society's primitive structure, females could have multiple male companions, but only those with formal agreements were permitted to cohabitate with her.

The others—those without binding contracts—were akin to concubines in human history, albeit with a crucial distinction: male companions were openly accepted here, without secrecy or stigma.

However, it was considered normal for a female to dismiss a male if she lost interest, and no one would question it.

In her previous existence, Amelia had exploited this system to its fullest.

Despite being aware of the serpent beastman's possessive nature, she still risked flirting with others during his dormant period.

Her rationale? She never intended to keep him permanently. Amelia's aim was straightforward: enjoy herself, then discard him using a convenient pretext.

But her plans went awry.

Female beastmen were incredibly scarce in this realm. The males who had competed fiercely to become her companions wouldn't quietly accept being cast aside.

When the serpent beastman awoke from his slumber, Amelia's actions had already sparked trouble.

The males she'd flirted with confronted him, demanding explanations. Amelia's justification?

"The serpent forbids me from having other companions."

Upon learning of her behavior during his hibernation, the serpent beastman was enraged.

After a vicious clash with the other males, he forcibly took Amelia to his den, his demeanor ominous and threatening.

Thus began her ordeal.

He subjected her to countless torments, refusing to release her until she produced his offspring.

One batch of snake eggs was followed by another, and then another.

Amelia attempted to flee, naturally, but the serpent beastman never allowed her to leave his cave.

Her sole chance came on the day the werewolf was to assume leadership of the White Tiger Tribe.

Every member of the tribe—regardless of age or gender—was required to attend the ceremony. Amelia seized this opportunity, emerging with her snake children.

The ritual was held on a cliff behind the tribe's territory, a hallowed spot used for divine offerings.

Amelia's envy erupted when she saw me, someone she'd always considered inferior, standing proudly as the chieftain's partner.

She bided her time until all the beastmen were kneeling in prayer, then made her move.

Rushing at me with crazed eyes, she shrieked, "Arya! You've always been beneath me in everything—how dare you have a better life than me?! Go to hell!"
