If there was something else to sit on besides the stairs, Mila's bottom had already touched it. She could feel the heat from Zyran controlling even her thoughts, and what she didn't know was that her lips were trembling too.

The butler, who had witnessed this, quietly left the room, alerting other servants through the intercom to steer clear of the main house.

"What was that?" Zyran asked, leaning closer to the girl, though she was moving away from him. He grabbed her chin roughly, forcing her to look at him.

"You think all of this is a joke, don't you? Tch," he scoffed, not letting go of her face.

Mila swallowed softly, her whole body betraying her fear as she quivered like an earthworm in slight contact with salt. She hadn't expected this reaction- when Lacie spoke, everyone listened.

Why was she being forced to sit on the ground when she had finally found her courage?
