chapter 5:: The unexpected

Edie

It has been three weeks since I moved, and for the first time, Dylan texted me. I feel angry that I still care about him after he took advantage of me. I'm also upset that Liam is away; he always knows what to say to make me feel better. I get dressed and grab my purse because Tia just left for the weekend to be with Joey. "I believe a drink or two will help me feel better, so I hail a taxi. I've finally learned how to do it. At the bar, I order a shot of tequila and a dirty martini. After downing three shots of tequila, I look around the room. This seems like the perfect moment to move on from Dylan by hooking up with someone who can help me forget him." As I look around the room, I notice Conrad in the VIP lounge, and he is looking right at me. Is he really stalking me now? I grab the check and walk out, not wanting to speak to Conrad Howard. He really makes me think of Dylan. Just as I'm about to leave the bar, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around, and it's Conrad. "I have a feeling you're trying to dodge me," he says. He takes my hand and leads me down the street. We walk for about five minutes until I spot a hotel. "What are we doing here?" I feel angry because he thinks I'm just like all the other girls he's dated. "I'm here for the weekend, Edie, come on," he says. I run my fingers through my hair, frustrated by

his thoughtless attitude. "I'm not going to sleep with you, Conrad," I say, and he just laughs at me.

"Who said anything about sleeping with me?" he asks with a smile. I blow warm air into my hands. "So, what are we going to do in your room?" He walks back toward me. "You look like you could use a drink." He turns and heads into the hotel lobby. If I go home, I know I'll end up crying again. I choose to go with Conrad since it's just a drink. I enter the hotel, and he is waiting in front of the elevator. The lights on the door's keypads light up, and he presses one. I feel nervous for some reason, and I'm not sure why. It seems like I'm doing something I shouldn't be doing. I step into the elevator and lean against the railing. His eyes are on me as he talks on the phone. The elevator zooms us up to the tenth floor, where the doors slide open. I'm walking behind him while he continues his call, gripping my half-moon bag tightly .

He halts and puts a key into the door. When the door swings open, he steps back. "Ladies first," he says. I walk into the room, but it's not just a small room; it's a suite. The suite is tidy, and there's a table on the balcony. In this area, there's a large couch and an office desk nearby. As I look around the room, I notice there's no bed. "Not what you expected, huh?" For some reason, I feel let down. I think he notices my expression and walks up behind me. "There's a bed in the other room," he whispers in my ear, his chilly breath sending a strange warmth down my spine. "Why should I care about the bed?" I respond, and then our lips meet, his arms wrapping around me. "This wasn't part of the deal, Conrad," I say softly before he kisses me fiercely, his tongue exploring my mouth. He pushes me against the wall, and his hand slides down to my belly button, then into my skirt and underwear, touching me in a way that makes me squirm. "I'm giving you the option to leave if you wish," he whispers softly in my ear. His two middle fingers slide inside me, and I let out a moan as he starts to move them. An option to leave ?, no that was his card to get me to stay .

His warm breath tickles my ears, and he lightly bites my neck while he keeps thrusting. I'm doing my best not to scream.My eyes shut, and I can't help but wiggle my waist to get him to speed up. It's as if he understands my silent hints as his fingers move even quicker in and out of me. "Ah... ah... ah..." I moan, losing my composure. I'm nearly there, and he picks up the pace, pushing me over the edge until I come apart. "Wow, Conrad!" I shout his name as I finally break free. He kisses me again while his hands pull away from me. His lips touch his fingers as he pulls away, licking off the wetness from his hand while he unzips his pants.
