The Whole Place is Possessed by Evil Spirits

I began to realize that this entire audience might not be people anymore - they could be... ghosts!

Ghosts Performing Opera now. Her voice had attracted countless ghosts that possessed these people.

I was stunned. Where did so many ghosts come from? And the ghosts on this stage were too powerful - they appeared instantly when she sang?

Was my Tattoos of Gods and Ghosts too powerful, or was this ghost's singing voice itself that formidable?

Another question was why I wasn't possessed by a ghost, while even Antonio and Stein were affected.

I quickly looked at Stella. She seemed to know what I wanted to ask and pointed at my back. I then realized there was a Yellow Taoist Talisman stuck to my back. Did Stella give it to me? When had that happened? No wonder I wasn't possessed.

Stella said she didn't have many talismans left. The one she gave me should be kept safe. For now, we shouldn't act rashly - just observe what happens.

Although the entire room was full of people possessed by ghosts, there was no immediate danger. They all stood dumbfounded, listening to Harper on stage singing opera.

The song's influence didn't extend far - only people around this field were affected. The rest of the campus remained normal.

Having so many people possessed by ghosts at once in a university was serious. No one knew what would happen next. If those ghosts decided to take lives, many people could die.

Other singers want money for performing - Ghosts Performing Opera wants to take lives. This was no joke. Stella was under tremendous pressure, her forehead covered in fine sweat, but she still didn't make a move. If the opera sound stopped abruptly, those ghosts might go on a rampage. This was a situation neither Stella nor I had anticipated.

I asked Stella in a low voice, "Why are there so many ghosts here? It's too evil."

Stella replied, "I don't know. Before this school was built, it used to be a mass grave. Who knows how many vengeful souls and corpses are buried beneath us?"

I shivered. This used to be a mass grave - no wonder there were so many ghosts. These kinds of ghosts usually weren't benevolent. Would they take this opportunity to kill people?

With so many ghosts, Stella couldn't control them all by herself. If danger arose, people would definitely die. I started worrying about Antonio and Stein now - I shouldn't have let them come with me.

Harper kept singing with no sign of stopping. The more she sang, the more energized she became. But her singing opera in the middle of the night - how bizarre was that?

People kept passing by, and as soon as they heard Harper's operatic singing, they would immediately become possessed by ghosts again, then join the crowd, standing with their heads raised to listen to the performance.

How long would this continue? When would it end? At this rate, wouldn't the entire school become possessed by ghosts? Were there really that many ghosts?

Stella gulped and grew even more nervous. She said there might be - mass graves often contained countless victims. Some bones were buried deeper and deeper, accumulating over time. No one could guess how many ghosts might be underground. If Ghosts Performing Opera attracted them all up here, that would be disastrous.

"No, we can't just wait any longer. We need to make Harper stop. This can't go on," I whispered to Stella.

The operatic singing showed no signs of stopping - if anything, it grew more intense. We couldn't afford to wait any longer.

I told Stella to handle the ghosts in the audience while I dealt with the one on stage!

I knew the ghost on stage didn't come from the mass grave - it came from the Tattoos of Gods and Ghosts!

By now Harper had been completely controlled. She was like a puppet, completely unconscious. I'd been right before - Ghosts Performing Opera should never have been tattooed on Harper. Even though her voice improved, it wasn't her voice anymore - it belonged to the ghost from Tattoos of Gods and Ghosts.

When she sang, it was bound to attract ghosts - and ghosts loved hearing such singing.

Without waiting for Stella's approval, I sneaked around the crowd and ran to the backstage area, which had long since fallen under the same spell. Everyone was possessed by ghosts. Fortunately, those ghosts were so entranced by the opera that they completely ignored my intrusion.

My plan was simple: sneak up from backstage and stick the Yellow Taoist Talisman Stella gave me onto Harper's body. That should make the ghost disappear.

Once the singing stopped, these ghosts would disperse. No song meant no ghosts - though I couldn't rule out the possibility of them going berserk. I hoped Stella could handle that if it happened.

With my mind made up, I began sneaking onto the stage. No one noticed me - they were all entranced by the performance, or more accurately, perhaps simply ignoring me.

I gulped and nervously took a step closer to Harper. She was completely unguarded, performing Cantonese Opera moves and singing into the microphone - this wasn't Harper anymore, since she'd never known how to do such things.

As I approached, I suddenly slapped the Yellow Taoist Talisman onto Harper's back. She turned to look at me with resentful eyes, then her eyelids fluttered and she collapsed onto the stage.

A few seconds later, all the ghosts in the audience began making hideous expressions. They started moving toward me in a weird, unnatural gait, like a dark tide of terror.

Oh hell. This was bad. These ghosts didn't seem willing to stop. By interrupting their performance, it looked like they wanted to tear me apart.
