The Boss Strikes Again

"Jiang Shengjun, why didn't you go to the boss's shop today?" Bu Lige asked curiously as they strolled down the street.

Beside him walked Jiang Shengjun, who looked rather displeased.

"It's all because of my father," Jiang Shengjun replied with a sigh. "Nine Stars City is crawling with all kinds of people lately, and he's been keeping me on a tight leash. I only just managed to sneak out."

The two were heading toward the Wind Immortal Tower. Although it was close to Luo Chuan's Origin Mall, neither of them considered stopping by.

After all, Luo Chuan always closed his shop promptly at sunset—never a minute late.

Thanks to their frequent encounters at Origin Mall, what had once been a hostile relationship between Bu Lige and Jiang Shengjun had evolved into a friendship born of shared experiences.

"That's a shame," Bu Lige said with a teasing tone, his face lighting up mischievously. "Tsk, tsk, you missed out on the boss's latest addition!"

"Latest addition?" Jiang Shengjun blinked in surprise, his curiosity piqued. "The boss introduced something new? What is it?"

"A game," Bu Lige replied cryptically, his tone laden with mystery.

Jiang Shengjun looked puzzled. "A game? Are you messing with me?"

Bu Lige ignored his question and continued walking toward the Wind Immortal Tower.

Realizing he was being left behind, Jiang Shengjun hurried to catch up. "Hey, are you serious? What's this about a game? You're not pulling my leg, are you?"

"What would I gain by lying to you?" Bu Lige shrugged. "When has anything in the boss's shop ever been ordinary?"

Jiang Shengjun nodded in agreement. That much was true.

Bu Lige elaborated, "This isn't just any game. The boss's games can actually help improve your cultivation!"

Jiang Shengjun stopped in his tracks, staring at Bu Lige in shock. "You're kidding, right? You can get stronger just by playing a game? Since when was cultivation this easy?"

Bu Lige smirked. "This game is like a real world where you can fight enemies and gain experience to grow stronger. But don't take my word for it—go see for yourself tomorrow."

Jiang Shengjun was now consumed by curiosity. He couldn't wait for the next day to arrive so he could try out this incredible game.

Suddenly, Bu Lige's attention was drawn to the commotion ahead. "Hey, something's going on at the Wind Immortal Tower. Let's check it out!"

The Wind Immortal Tower was the most renowned and prestigious inn in all of Nine Stars City, with a reputation backed by formidable strength. Anyone bold enough to cause trouble there was either a fool or extremely confident in their power.

As Jiang Shengjun and Bu Lige stepped into the bustling establishment, they were greeted by the sight of a figure being flung backward through the air.

"Was that… Li Mu?" Jiang Shengjun asked, his eyes wide with shock.

Bu Lige nodded, equally stunned. His gaze shifted to the person Li Mu had been following, and sure enough, it was Ji Tianhao, the second prince.

"Daring to attack someone under the second prince's protection… Does that person have a death wish?" Jiang Shengjun whispered in disbelief.

However, when the two recognized the figure who had delivered the strike, they froze. Slowly, they exchanged glances and retracted their earlier thoughts.

The attacker was none other than the boss himself, Luo Chuan.

"Well," Bu Lige muttered, "if the boss decided to act, the second prince might as well have signed his own death warrant."

Jiang Shengjun nodded solemnly. The two didn't even bother to consider Ji Tianhao's status.

Talk about status?

Ha! Against the boss's overwhelming strength, even if the Emperor of the Heavenly Star Empire himself showed up, it wouldn't make a difference!
