The Fall of Phaseless Demon Monk

The scene was eerily silent.

Not a single fluctuation of spiritual energy accompanied the event—

Only a quiet, creeping erasure.

Phaseless Demon Monk watched in horror as his body vanished before his very eyes.

One blink—his arms were gone.

Another—his torso faded.

It was as if his very existence had been erased from reality.

But just as his body completely disappeared, a golden light shot out from where he once stood.

Upon closer inspection, the light revealed itself to be a miniature figure.

It had his face. His features. His essence.

---

"Boss, that's his True Spirit!"

Yao Ziyan's voice carried a rare urgency.

By the time a cultivator reached the Eminence realm, they had transcended mortality.

Even if their body was destroyed, they could still survive as long as their True Spirit remained intact.

Though the price would be steep, rebirth was still possible.

Phaseless Demon Monk's True Spirit trembled but did not hesitate.

With one final, vengeful glare at Luo Chuan, it turned and darted toward the crack in space.

Freedom was within reach.

If he could just escape, he could return stronger.

He would have his revenge!

But the moment he tried to leap into the void—

He stopped.

"How is this possible?!"

A horrified scream burst from Phaseless Demon Monk's tiny figure.

The golden light around his True Spirit dimmed.

His consciousness blurred.

His thoughts turned hazy.

His very soul—

Was disappearing.

One blink.

And then—

Nothing.

Phaseless Demon Monk, Eminence of the Second Rank—fallen.

---

The alley returned to complete stillness.

There were no traces left behind.

No evidence that the infamous Phaseless Demon Monk had ever stood there.

Yao Ziyan remained frozen in place, staring at where Phaseless Demon Monk had vanished.

Just like that?

Gone?

Ahem.

A soft cough snapped her back to reality.

At some point, Luo Chuan had already stepped back into Origin Mall.

Inside, the customers had yet to recover from their shock.

Though they hadn't been able to gauge Phaseless Demon Monk's exact strength, they knew one thing for certain:

If Yao Ziyan had taken him seriously, then he had to be powerful.

After all—

The man had torn open space itself.

And yet—

He had been eliminated in an instant.

Not with a heaven-shaking battle.

Not with a mighty explosion of power.

Just a single snap of the fingers from the boss.

Now, the awe in the customers' eyes had deepened.

Luo Chuan, already a mystery, seemed even more unfathomable.

---

"Thank you, Boss."

Yao Ziyan's voice was softer than usual as she gazed at Luo Chuan.

Luo Chuan waved a hand dismissively.

"You're the clerk of Origin Mall. I'm the owner."

"If anyone wants to trouble you, they'll have to go through me first."

His tone was calm, but there was an undeniable weight behind his words.

A simple statement.

But undeniably absolute.

Then, as if nothing had happened, he continued—

"I'm heading upstairs. Watch the store for me."

"Got it, Boss," Yao Ziyan replied instinctively.

She watched as Luo Chuan disappeared up the stairs, her eyes lingering for a moment.

Then, without realizing it, a soft smile played at the corner of her lips.

---

The moment Luo Chuan was out of sight, the customers erupted into excited whispers.

"The Boss is so cold on the outside but warm on the inside," Gu Yunxi grinned.

"He really takes care of his employees!"

"Of course!" Bu Lige puffed out his chest.

"I figured that out on my first day here!"

"I wonder if the Boss is hiring more clerks," Jiang Wanshang mused, sneaking a glance at Yao Ziyan.

"I'd love to work here too…"

Their teasing gazes turned toward Yao Ziyan.

A knowing smile spread through the group.

She felt it instantly.

For once, the unshakable Yao Ziyan felt her face grow…

Warm.

Her cheeks reddened.

"What are you all looking at?!"

Trying to regain her composure, she crossed her arms and cleared her throat.

"Enough chitchat! Your three-hour limit is almost up!"

Her stern expression only made the customers grin wider.

Even without saying it aloud—

They all knew.
